The five finalists for the 2019 OWL MVP award have officially been confirmed. After polling league GM’s, the media and broadcast crew, these are the five players who received the most votes:
- Jay “sinatraa” Won
- Matthew “super” DeLisi
- Jooseok “Twilight” Lee
- Hyeon-Woo “JJANU” Choi
- Xu “guxue” Qiulin
GOATS Paid off After all
It’s apparent from the candidates chosen that the 3-3 meta, GOATS, played a big role in deciding the sorts of roles chosen for the award. While sinatraa is a DPS player by trade, he played Zarya throughout the entire season so far. With that in mind, four of the five selections play tank and one plays support. Of the five players, four are from teams who were especially dominant in the GOATS era of the OWL in the Vancouver Titans and the San Francisco Shock.
Now It’s Time to Vote
With the announcement officially here, it is offically time for fans to cast their votes. This can be done using the hashtag #OWLMVP on Twitter and on the Overwatch League Twitch channel. Fans can vote on Twitter using either the Twitter handle or OWL handle of your MVP candidate, alongside the hashtag #OWLMVP. For example, someone could vote for Sinatraa on Twitter using #OWLMVP Sinatraa or #OWLMVP @Sinatraa.
The OWL plans to provide weekly updates to help fans get to know the players more. Voting will go until August 25, so make sure to get online and help select the 2019 OWL MVP.
