One of the most important aspects of Team Fight Tactics are the items. That is why players need to know which ones they should focus on and which ones they should stay away from. Here are the best and worst items in Patch 9.23.
Here is our latest elemental tier list, class tier list, champion tier list.
This list will only include combined items.
Tier 1:
- Bloodthirster
- Dragon’s Claw
- Guardian Angel
- Guinsoo’s Rageblade
- Ionic Spark
- Luden’s Echo
- Morellonomicon
- Redemption
- Seraph’s Embrace
- Spear of Shojin
- Warmog’s Armor
With so many mages and strategies revolving around abilities, Dragon’s Claw is back at the top of the meta. For many of the same reasons, Morello, Luden’s Echo and Ionic Spark are strong either because of the abilities or the hope to counter them. Guardian Angel has also made its way to be top tier mostly due to Senna and Lucian’s addition to the game. 10.1 will bring with it some new items so it will be interesting to see how much of an impact they have on these current items as none at this tier level will be exiting the game.
Tip: Morello and GA is a must on Senna. She can carry games with those two items alone.
Tier 2:
- Deathblade
- Force of Nature
- Hand of Justice
- Hextech Gunblade
- Iceborn Gauntlet
- Mage’s Cap
- Phantom Dancer
- Rabadon’s Deathcap
- Runaan’s Hurricane
- Statikk Shiv
- Sword Breaker
- Talisman of Light
- Thieves Gloves
- Trap Claw
- Zepher
Seeing so many spatula items up this far is rare ever since they stopped giving double what their other recipe items were. That said Force of Nature will always be useful but it moves up this time because so many comps now require eight and nine units. Even with Phantom Dancer’s nerf, the item is still strong enough and used with enough champions to make it this high up. It is likely though that with the next patch it could fall out of favor. Runaan’s Hurricane is being used on many champions due to Light being back in the meta. Glacials have also made Runaan’s very strong. The last item that is noteworthy here is Talisman of Light. Adding one to Senna alone can make Lights worth running almost every game.
Tip: Throw a Statikk Shive on Olaf to not only maximize damage but the attack speed and mana are especially helpful with his ultimate.
Tier 3:
- Blade of the Ruined King
- Giant Slayer
- Hush
- Inferno Cinder
- Infinity Edge
- Jewled Gauntlet
- Locket of Iron Solari
- Rapid Firecannon
- Red Buff
- Titanic Hydra
Not much to mention here other than some of these items having some use on a few specific champions. Inferno Cinder helps with six Inferno but a very fun and interesting interaction is adding it to Senna. She can help complete an Inferno comp and deal out some serious damage. Another one is Titanic Hydra finally having an impact on Mountain maps specifically. Throwing it on the unit that you are stacking on the mountain hex means it is doing more damage every turn. Throw it on a Nasus or early Berserker along with a Warmogs and enjoy the fireworks.
Tip: Jeweled Gauntlet on Ezreal with one Tear item can put out some serious damage.
Tier 4:
- Berseker Axe
- Frozen Heart
- Frozen Mallet
- Quicksilver
- Repeating Crossbow
- Thornmail
- Warden’s Mail
- Youmus Ghostblade
- Zeke’s Herald
Three of these items will be leaving the game in Patch 10.1. Quicksilver, Repeating Crossbow and Thornmail will be changed. They have either never been useful or were barely useful. Thornmail is still solid on Braum so make the unkillable Braum one more time before it leaves the game. It will be interesting to see if Zeke’s Herald sees a change sometime in the next patch or two or if we will just have to wait for six assassins to make it back into the meta.
Tip: Don’t forget that Frozen Mallet can still be useful if you are a Demon and you decide to run six Glacials. (Shame on you)
This list will change and be updated with each new patch.
