Team Liquid’s apparel department does it again. Following in their own footsteps of clothing featuring Marvel, tokidoki, and other recognizable brands, Team Liquid brings a new collection that is sure to unite fandoms. The newest apparel launch crosses over TL and Naruto Shippuden, with King Vader (Dominique Barrett) modeling and releasing a new live-action short.

Naruto is one of the world’s most popular manga and anime series. The story follows Naruto, the optimistic protagonist, on his ninja adventures. League of Legends fans may find his Nine-Tailed Fox Spirit oddly familiar. The Team Liquid x Naruto collection displays various symbols from the series, including Uzushiogakure, Uchiha clan, and Konohagakure. Naruto, Sakura, Kakashi and Sasuke appear on various pieces, as well.

Fans will find a denim jacket, a Jonin-inspired parka, joggers, and several tees and hoodies within the collection. Many of the pieces are tie-dyed blue, orange, white and gray. King Vader appears in several promotional photos. In celebration of the merch release, King Vader will also drop a new live-action video alongside Team Liquid.
Surprisingly, this sort of branding crossover has not happened much outside of Team Liquid’s own Liquid x Marvel collection. Anime/manga and esports are arguably closer fandoms than superheroes/comics and esports, so this feels like a natural progression. Although Nadeshot did share an image last year of Hunter X Hunter characters wearing 100 Thieves apparel, nothing ever came of it. Maybe Team Liquid’s Naruto crossover was partly inspired from that?
Ninja run to the store on Friday, February 12 at noon PT to snag your favorite piece.
