Yes, that’s right, it’s finally happening. Teamfight Tactics (TFT) will be making its official debut on mobile platforms on March 19 and will be available on both Google Play and the App Store. It will launch at various times based on region and will be coming with some other exciting additions for players to be excited about. Here’s what’s coming when TFT launches on mobile in two short days.
First and foremost, TFT’s mobile functionality will be able to cross-play with those on PC. This will allow players on both platforms to be in the same lobbies and compete seamlessly with one another. In addition, it will contain a new player tutorial to help newer players better understand the auto-battler genre and TFT specifically. It has not been specified whether this tutorial will also be available for PC users, however, it seems most important for mobile users at launch.

Additionally, there will be new Galaxies Pass and Galaxies Pass+ features being added alongside new Galaxies-themed Booms. The “booms” will be personalized damage animations and the passes will be progression systems to allow players to unlock additional content as they play. It’s worth noting that these will be available alongside existing features in TFT like Little Legends, Arena skins and Ranked Play.

“When we created League of Legends over 10 years ago, we never dreamed it would become this popular with so many players around the world,” said Marc Merrill, Co-Founder and Co-Chairman at Riot Games. “Now, as League enters its second decade, we’re thrilled to bring an authentic, competitive TFT experience to mobile, the first of many multi-platform efforts players will see this year.”
For Riot and for TFT, this is a massive step and one that players should be celebrating. So, be sure to download this new and exciting update on your mobile device and enjoy the coming Set 3, Galaxies. If everything goes according to plan, it’ll be out of this world.
