Following up on a week of big announcements, the Houston Outlaws announced Friday afternoon their signing of João Pedro “Hydration” Goes Telles.

Most recently with the Los Angeles Gladiators, Hydration entered free agency at the end of the 2019 season. The Gladiators finished 2019 in fifth place in the league, and defeated the Hangzhou Spark in the playoffs before falling to eventual Grand Finalists Vancouver and San Francisco. Hydration was also a starting DPS for Team USA in the 2018 Overwatch World Cup, with now-fellow Outlaws Austin “Muma” Wilmot and Shane “Rawkus” Flaherty.
Hydration was a strong player for the Gladiators in 2018 and 2019, notable for his flexibility onto niche heroes such as Pharah and Doomfist. In 2019, he even spent some time in the tank position, flexing onto Orisa and Wrecking Ball. He fills the DPS slot left by Wonhyeop “ArHaN” Jeong, who Houston released earlier in the week.
This announcement follows the Outlaws’ signing of Harsha “Harsha” Bandi as head coach for 2020.
