For the third straight day, the Hangzhou Spark have signed a new player. This time, the team is bringing in some much needed backup for Xu “Guxue” Qiulin in Young-hyun “Takoyaki” Lee. The signing was made public on Twitter on Tuesday evening.

He may be young, but he shall be one of our most reliable shields.
Let’s welcome our new main tank, Takoyaki! \(^o^)/ @OW_Takoyaki #sparkbang pic.twitter.com/HUEKYen2Y1— Hangzhou Spark (@Hangzhou_Spark) November 18, 2020
Takoyaki was, most recently, the Main Tank for Team Diamond in Contenders Korea. The Korean player is known for his Reinhardt play, which compliments Guxue‘s main strength as a Winston main. Previous to his time with Diamond, Takoyaki also played for Meta Athena during Season 2 and Element Mystic from late 2018 to Contenders 2019 Season 2. This move, in turn, reunites him with recent Spark signee Jeong-ho “MCD” Lee. The acquisition also brings the team’s total players to five Chinese and five Korean players even.
With the Spark’s roster at ten players currently, the team only have a couple moves left to spare if needed. The rumoured Min-soo “SeoMinSoo” Seo signing is forthcoming, according to sources, but a twelve squad member could fill out the roster to a tee. From the way the team is being built, an even split of Korean and Chinese talent seems to be the direction the team is headed. Alongside other factors like previously established chemistry from old teams and the fact that many of these new players are young and impressionable, the team certainly has a road map for the future with this mindset.
TGH will continue to keep an eye on if the Spark will find their final pieces to their puzzle as the offseason continues.
