The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2024 New Mexico Bowl.
Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Draft Prospects
Tyree Skipper, S
Skipper joined Louisiana in 2020 and didn’t play much early in his career. He started being more impactful in 2022. Skipper only started three games in each of the 2022 and 2023 seasons, but started in 2024. This season, he has registered 41 tackles and four interceptions.
He stands at 6-foot and 207 pounds, which is a good size for an NFL safety. His size and ball skills are worth noting by NFL teams. Skipper is another player who will need to excel on special teams to make an NFL roster.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
Keyon Martin, CB
Martin started his college career at Youngstown State, where he spent two seasons. He transferred to Louisiana in 2022. After playing a lot in 2022, Martin entered the starting lineup in 2023. In 2024, he had 40 total tackles, two interceptions and six passes defended.
At 5-foot-9 and 166 pounds, Martin is very small for an NFL cornerback. He will likely have to play in the slot at the next level, as holding up on the outside could be tough for him. If he plays well on special teams, he could make an NFL roster.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
TCU Horned Frogs Draft Prospects
Bud Clark, S
Clark joined TCU in 2020, played as a freshman, then got hurt in 2021 and redshirted. He stepped into the starting lineup in 2022, registering five interceptions and helping TCU make the national championship. Clark stayed in the starting lineup throughout the rest of his career and was a team captain starting in 2023. In 2024, Clark had 64 total tackles, three interceptions and two passes defended.
At 6-foot-2 and 185, Clark has a good frame, but could fill it out more. He has played in some big games and has displayed good ball skills. Clark can make an NFL roster if he can play special teams well enough. He could be a late-round pick.
Projected Draft Range: Sixth Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent
Johnny Hodges, LB
Hodges started his college career at Navy, where he spent two seasons. He transferred to TCU 2022 and helped them make the National Championship Game. Hodges got injured in 2023 and played just four games. In 2024, he totaled 87 tackles, five tackles for loss and a sack.
At 6-foot-2 and 240 pounds, Hodges has good size for the NFL. He has proven to be a good run-stopper, but will have to show more in coverage to be a regular NFL player. Finding a role on special teams is his best path to make an NFL roster.
Projected Draft Range: Sixth Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent
