As the 2019 NFL season approaches, teams are in the midst of beginning training camps. Specifically, the Dallas Cowboys have began to make way to Oxnard, California for camp. The only issue was that star running back Ezekiel Elliott did not show up to board the plane on Thursday.
NFL Network’s Jane Slater reported Elliott’s missing of the team flight.
It’s official. My sources tell me Ezekiel Elliott is not on the flight to LA. Again, he has until Friday am to show up at camp though. Players have chosen to fly on their own in the past #Cowboys #TrainingCamp

For the past few weeks, controversy has erupted as it was reported that there may be a holdout coming from the All-Pro running back. As of now, Elliott has two years remaining on his contract. But, he has expressed interest in signing an extension before the 2019 season.
With Elliott not showing up for the Cowboys’ flight to California, it seems that the holdout will come to fruition. Although, the team’s training camp does not officially begin until Friday morning, so the running back will have until then to be in attendance. As Jane Slater stated in her tweet, players in the past have chosen to fly on the own.
Ezekiel Elliott has been the cornerstone of the Cowboys’ offensive productivity for the past three seasons. Having been a workhorse for the team, Zeke is in hope of obtaining a new deal soon. If he decides the holdout of training camp, it will be interesting to see what the Cowboys’ front office decides to do.
