Over the last few weeks, our staff has compiled a lot of posts covering questionable Madden 19 ratings. Every team has been covered, but who were the players that Madden was the most incorrect on? This post will cover the most underrated NFC players in Madden 19 with excerpts from our articles covering specific teams.

“Former first overall pick in 2009, Stafford has managed start in all 16 games for seven straight seasons, which is the third-longest active streak behind only Phillip Rivers and Matt Ryan. Over the last three seasons, Stafford has really come into his own, sporting a 66 percent completion percentage, 4.9 percent TD rate, 1.9 percent interception rate and 96.5 QB Rating, which all rank ahead of Rivers and Ryan over that span.
Stafford will be given an 85-overall rating in Madden 19, which makes him the 11th highest rated QB in the game. I believe he is being criminally underrated, as he has been a more efficient and effective field general than his counterparts Rivers and Ryan, who will be rated 87 and 89 respectively.” -Avery Seltzer

“Sure, he was injured last year and only played in five games. But Bulaga is a right tackle that most any team would love to have. He has been a seminal piece of an up-and-down offensive line in Green Bay.
In his absence, the Pack’s offensive line was third-worst in the league. If he was healthy, rest assured that ranking would be much higher. An ACL tear is notoriously hard to come back from for anyone, let alone a 300-pound offensive lineman. But Bulaga has incredible football IQ and plays hard because he knows he is protecting one of the best quarterbacks to ever grace the NFL.
His 81 ranking is probably due to the questions the Madden crew has concerning the road back from his debilitating injury. But he deserves more than that. He is obviously one of the anchors of the line, and they truly suffer without his leadership.” -Ben Hendricks

“In 2017, Jones officially emerged as one of the NFL’s premier pass rushers, leading the league in sacks with 17. According to footballperspective.com, his approximate value was 15, which ranked 18th amongst the entire NFL and 9th amongst defensive players.
Jones is listed as a right-end in Madden 19 and is rated an 89-overall, tying him as the 12th highest rated defensive-end. To put this in perspective, Jones’ shares an 89-overall rating with fellow defensive-ends Cameron Wake of the Miami Dolphins and Jabaal Sheard of the Indianapolis Colts, who both started all 16 games in 2017 and both finished the year with approximate values of 7. Clearly, Jones is a more impactful player than his defensive-end counterparts, unfortunately, the EA Sports team failed to recognize this.” -Avery Seltzer
“Barkley is a huge addition to the New York Giants. He’s one of the best rookies coming out of college and he showed out during minicamp. He might be a newcomer in the league, but his rating seems kind of unfair at an 82.
Barkley is no ordinary running back. Back at Penn State, he started as a freshman and had a 1,000 yard rushing season in each of his three seasons. He was also a first-team All American multiple times throughout his career. Not only is he a fast runner, but his agility is amazing as well, rating at 94. He has great balance, able to break tackles and hurdle over defenders.
Saquon Barkley’s rating should be raised to an 89 at least. His strength, speed and agility are pretty much accurate, except for his awareness. He is able to make people miss and has decent vision. His awareness should be moved up to 80.” -Josh Robinson

“Glasgow, a third-round pick in the 2016 NFL draft, started all 16 games last season for the Lions at either center or left guard. The 25-year-old managed to be on the field for all 1041 offensive snaps last season and was given an approximate value of 9 according to Pro-football-reference.com. The interior offensive lineman will continue to be a major cog in Detroit’s line, which enters the season ranked as the 8th best unit by Profootballfocus.com.
EA Sports has given Glasgow a 71-overall rating in Madden 19, which is an outrage. Fellow lineman T.J. Lang has been given an 86-overall rating in Madden 19, although himself and Glasgow share an approximated value of 9. This approximated value of 9 shows that Glasgow, along with Lang and wide receiver Golden Tate, can be considered the second most important offensive assets for Detroit behind quarterback Matthew Stafford, whose approximate value in 2017 was 14.
Clearly, whoever made Detroit’s rankings overlooked Glasgow’s impact in 2017, as he was one of, if not the, most important offensive lineman for the Lions last season. For there to be a 15-overall point differential between Glasgow and Lang, someone must be holding a grudge against the former Michigan Wolverine.” -Avery Seltzer
