2024 NFL Draft Grades

Publish Date: April 25, 2024

The 2024 NFL Draft is underway. As the draft goes on, teams will be graded on how they have done. Here are the 2024 NFL Draft Grades.

Note: This post will be updated throughout the weekend

AFC East

Buffalo Bills: A

Draft Picks: WR Keon Coleman, S Cole Bishop, DL DeWayne Carter, RB Ray Davis, IOL Sedrick Van Pran, LB Edefuan Ulofoshio, EDGE Javon Solomon, OT Tylan Grable, CB Daequan Hardy, IOL Travis Clayton,

Buffalo traded down twice and still got a quality receiver in Coleman who can play on the outside. After losing a great safety duo, drafting Bishop will help fill the void.

Miami Dolphins: B-

Draft Picks: EDGE Chop Robinson, OT Patrick Paul, RB Jaylen Wright, EDGE Mo Kamara, WR Malik Washington, S Patrick McMorris, WR Tahj Washington,

The Dolphins had edge rushers get hurt last year and now have depth at the position with Robinson. Paul was a solid value, but other needs could’ve been addressed. Wright, Kamara and Washington all were in a solid range, and Washington could battle for WR3 for the Dolphins.

New England Patriots: B

Draft Picks: QB Drake Maye, WR Ja’Lynn Polk, OT Caedan Wallace, IOL Layden Robinson, WR Javon Baker, CB Marcellas Dial, QB Joe Milton, TE Jaheim Bell,

In a deep quarterback class, the Patriots got a top 10 player in the class in Maye. Then in the second, there were plenty of better receivers on the board than Polk. Wallace can develop into a solid tackle with time.

New York Jets: A

Draft Picks: OT Olu Fashanu, WR Malachi Corley, RB Braelon Allen, QB Jordan Travis, RB Isaiah Davis, CB Qwan’Tez Stiggers, S Jaylen Key

The Jets addressed the offensive line in free agency, but Fashanu can add to that to make sure Aaron Rodgers is protected. A trade up helped them draft Corley, who is dynamic with the ball in his hands.

AFC North

Baltimore Ravens: A

Draft Picks: CB Nate Wiggins, OT Roger Rosengarten, EDGE Adisa Isaac, WR Devontez Walker, CB TJ Tampa, RB Rasheen Ali, QB Devin Leary, IOL Nick Samac, S Sanoussi Kane,

The Ravens always seem to have good players fall to them at positions of need and Wiggins fit that mold. Rosengarten is an athletic tackle who can develop into a good player on the right side of the line.

Cincinnati Bengals: B

Draft Picks: OT Amarius Mims, DL Kris Jenkins, WR Jermaine Burton, DL McKinley Jackson, TE Erick All, CB Josh Newton, TE Tanner McLachlan, EDGE Cedric Johnson, S Daijahn Anthony, IOL Matt Lee,

Mims is a naturally talented offensive tackle, but the Bengals have had trouble developing players at the position in the past. Jenkins will help the team stop the run next season. Burton can run good routes and provide big plays as WR3 in the Bengals’ offense. Jackson was a reach, but fills a need at nose tackle. All battled injuries through his college career, but can run block well. Newton can play inside or out, but played better in 2022 than 2023. McLachlan was a good value pick, but he is more of a big receiver than a true tight end.

Cleveland Browns: B-

Draft Picks: DL Michael Hall, IOL Zak Zinter, WR Jamari Thrash, LB Nathaniel Watson, CB Myles Harden, DL Jowon Briggs,

The Browns didn’t pick until round two, but took a solid interior pass rusher in Michael Hall. Zinter has a mean-streak and can provide some depth.

Pittsburgh Steelers: A

Draft Picks: IOL Troy Fautanu, IOL Zach Frazier, WR Roman Wilson, LB Payton Wilson, IOL Mason McCormick, DL Logan Lee, CB Ryan Watts,

The Steelers have to protect Russell Wilson and Fautanu can play either tackle or guard for them. They also now have a good center in Frazier. Roman Wilson is athletic and can make crazy catches. Wilson was a steal if he can stay healthy.

AFC South

Houston Texans: B-

Draft Picks: CB Kamari Lassiter, OT Blake Fisher, S Calen Bullock, TE Cade Stover, LB Jamal Hill, RB Jawhar Jordan, EDGE Solomon Byrd, DL Marcus Harris, OT LaDarius Henderson,

Houston needed a second corner to go across from Derek Stingley, but reached a bit on Lassiter. Fisher was a good value pick and can play right tackle for the Texans. Bullock has great range as a safety.

Indianapolis Colts: B

Draft Picks: EDGE Laiatu Latu, WR Adonai Mitchell, OT Matt Goncalves, IOL Tanor Bortolini, WR Anthony Gould, S Jaylon Carlies, S Jaylin Simpson, CB Micah Abraham, DL Jonah Laulu,

Indianapolis had their pick of all defensive players, but decided to take Latu instead of a corner. Latu has plenty of injury concerns. The Colts got a great weapon for their offense in Mitchell, who fell to the mid-second round. Goncalves is a solid value with good technique.

Jacksonville Jaguars: A

Draft Picks: WR Brian Thomas, DL Maason Smith, CB Jarrian Jones, OT Javon Foster, DL Jordan Jefferson, CB Deantre Prince, RB Keilan Robinson, K Cam Little, EDGE Myles Cole,

The Jaguars drafted a weapon for Trevor Lawrence to utilize in Thomas and traded down in the process. It is a risk drafting Smith, who has had injury issues in his career.

Tennessee Titans: C

Draft Picks: OT JC Latham, DL T’Vondre Sweat, LB Cedric Gray, CB Jarvis Brownlee, WR Jha’Quan Jackson, S James Williams, EDGE Jaylen Harrell,

The Titans took Latham to improve the offensive line, which was a need, but reached on Latham. Sweat was at a solid value, but there are some off-the-field concerns.

AFC West

Denver Broncos: D

Draft Picks: QB Bo Nix, EDGE Jonah Elliss, WR Troy Franklin, CB Kris Abrams-Draine, RB Audric Estime, WR DeVaughn Vele, IOL Nick Gargiulo,

The Broncos reached on Nix even though they did need a quarterback. Elliss was productive in college, but doesn’t have great athleticism or size. They did get good value in round four with Nix’s college teammate Franklin.

Kansas City Chiefs: B+

Draft Picks: WR Xavier Worthy, OT Kingsley Suamataia, TE Jared Wiley, S Jaden Hicks, IOL Hunter Nourzad, CB Kamal Hadden, IOL CJ Hanson,

Worthy adds even more speed to the Chiefs and helps an area of need. The Chiefs traded up to get Suamataia, who will fill a need for them.

Las Vegas Raiders: B

Draft Picks: TE Brock Bowers, IOL Jackson Powers-Johnson, OT Delmar Glaze, CB Decaerion Richardson, LB Tommy Eichenberg, RB Dylan Laube, S Trey Taylor, WR MJ Devonshire,

Bowers is a great player, but the Raiders just drafted Michael Mayer at the position last season and their defense needs some help. They also drafted the best interior lineman, Powers-Johnson, in the second round. Glaze was a bit of a reach.

Los Angeles Chargers: A

Draft Picks: OT Joe Alt, WR Ladd McConkey, LB Junior Colson, DL Justin Egboigbe, CB Tarheeb Still, CB Cam Hart, RB Kimani Vidal, WR Brenden Rice, WR Cornelius Johnson,

The Chargers picked the number two overall player on the board and have protected Justin Herbert. A wide receiver could’ve been the pick, but it is a deep class at that position. In round two, the Chargers traded up for McConkey who is a great route-runner. Colson has played for Jim Harbaugh before, but also was a good value pick.

NFC East

Dallas Cowboys: B

Draft Picks: OT Tyler Guyton, EDGE Marshawn Kneeland, IOL Cooper Beebe, LB Marist Liufau, CB Caelen Carson, WR Ryan Flournoy, OT Nathan Thomas, DL Justin Rogers,

Dallas needed offensive line help and then traded down and still drafted Guyton at a great value. Kneeland didn’t fill a huge need and was a reach. Beebe was a great value and can play multiple positions on the offensive line. Liufau is a good run-defender and can play special teams.

New York Giants: A

Draft Picks: WR Malik Nabers, S Tyler Nubin, CB Andru Phillips, TE Theo Johnson, RB Tyrone Tracy, LB Darius Muasau,

The Giants didn’t get a quarterback, but did fill a huge need by selecting Nabers who has enticing speed. Nubin is an older prospect, but has good range for a safety. Phillips can play in the slot for the Giants’ defense.

Philadelphia Eagles: B

Draft Picks: CB Quinyon Mitchell, CB Cooper DeJean, EDGE Jalyx Hunt, RB Will Shipley, WR Ainias Smith, LB Jeremiah Trotter Jr., IOL Trevor Keegan, WR Johnny Wilson, IOL Dylan McMahon,

Philadelphia needed to get younger at the position and took corner Quinyon Mitchell as the first corner off the board. They were able to get a steal with DeJean in the second round.

Washington Commanders: A

Draft Picks: QB Jayden Daniels, DL Johnny Newton, CB Mike Sainristil, TE Ben Sinnott, IOL Brandon Coleman, WR Luke McCaffrey, LB Jordan Magee, S Dominique Hampton, EDGE Javontae Jean-Baptiste,

Washington drafted the second best quarterback in the class and now have a quarterback to build around. They also selected Newton with great value in the second round. Sainristil is one of the better nickel corners in the draft. Sinnott can block and provide a nice receiving target. Coleman was a bit of a reach, but will move from tackle to guard in the NFL.

NFC North

Chicago Bears: A

Draft Picks: QB Caleb Williams, WR Rome Odunze, OT Kiran Amegadjie, P Tory Taylor, EDGE Austin Booker,

The Bears made a trade last year out of the top pick and now have the top quarterback in the draft in Caleb Williams. They also got Williams a great weapon in Odunze. Amegadjie could take over at tackle in a few years.

Detroit Lions: A

Draft Picks: CB Terrion Arnold, CB Ennis Rakestraw, OT Giovanni Manu, S Sione Vaki, DL Mekhi Wingo, IOL Christian Mahogany,

Detroit traded up to get Arnold who slipped in the draft. He has great instincts and ball skills. The Lions clearly identified a need in their secondary and took Rakestraw as well, in a decent range.

Green Bay Packers: B

Draft Picks: OT Jordan Morgan, LB Edgerrin Cooper, S Javon Bullard, RB MarShawn Lloyd, LB Ty’Ron Hopper, S Evan Williams, IOL Jacob Monk, S Kitan Oladapo, OT Travis Glover, QB Michael Pratt, CB Kalen King,

The Packers have a versatile offensive line, but needed a tackle and got one in a decent value range in Morgan. Cooper is one of the best linebackers in the draft and the Packers were able to get him in the second round. The Packers signed Xavier McKinney, but really solidified safety with the selection of Bullard.

Minnesota Vikings: B

Draft Picks: QB J.J. McCarthy, EDGE Dallas Turner, CB Khyree Jackson, OT Walter Rousse, K Will Reichard, IOL Michael Jurgens, DL Levi Drake Ramirez,

The Vikings drafted McCarthy, who was the fifth-best quarterback in the draft, but had to trade up to do so. They also traded up for Turner, but that was at a great value. Jackson is a bigger outside corner,

NFC South

Atlanta Falcons: F

Draft Picks: QB Michael Penix, DL Ruke Orhorhoro, EDGE Bralen Trice, EDGE Brandon Dorlus, LB JD Bertrand, RB Jase McLellan, WR Casey Washington, DL Zion Logue,

The Falcons acquired Kirk Cousins this offseason, so the pick of Penix doesn’t make much sense. They then traded up for Orhorhoro, which wasn’t at a good value. Trice is a good power rusher.

Carolina Panthers: C

Draft Picks: WR Xavier Legette, RB Johnathan Brooks, LB Trevin Wallace, TE Ja’Tavion Sanders, CB Chau Smith-Wade, DL Jaden Crumedy, LB Michael Barrett,

Carolina traded up for Legette, but there were more talented receivers on the board. The Panthers traded up to take Brooks, who is coming off an injury. Wallace is a good athlete for a linebacker. Another weapon for Bryce Young was taken at the start of round four.

New Orleans Saints: A

Draft Picks: OT Taliese Fuaga, CB Kool-Aid McKinstry, QB Spencer Rattler, WR Bub Means, LB Jaylan Ford, DL Khristian Boyd, OT Josiah Ezirim,

New Orleans needed a tackle and got a great value pick in Fuaga, who has good power. McKinstry fell to the second round and the Saints traded up to get him.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: B

Draft Picks: IOL Graham Barton, EDGE Chris Braswell, S Tykee Smith, WR Jalen McMillan, RB Bucky Irving, IOL Elijah Klein, TE Devin Culp

Barton played tackle and center at Duke, but will likely play on the interior for the Bucs, filling a need in the process. Braswell can add to some enticing young edge rushers in Tampa. The Bucs picked Tykee Smith too early.

NFC West

Arizona Cardinals: B+

Draft Picks: WR Marvin Harrison Jr., EDGE Darius Robinson, CB Max Melton, RB Trey Benson, IOL Isaiah Adams, TE Tip Reiman, CB Elijah Jones, S Dadrion Taylor-Demerson, OT Christian Jones, WR Tejhaun Palmer, CB Jaden Davis

The Cardinals had pick four, but they came away from the draft with the best player and a weapon for Kyler Murray in Harrison Jr. Robinson filled a need, but was selected way too early. Melton will help at corner right away and was a good value. Benson can be a change of pace back from Conner. Reiman is a good blocking tight end.

Los Angeles Rams: A

Draft Picks: EDGE Jared Verse, DL Braden Fiske, RB Blake Corum, S Kam Kinchens, EDGE Brennan Jackson, DL Tyler Davis, K Joshua Karty, WR Jordan Whittington, IOL Beaux Limmer, IOL KT Leveston,

The Rams needed pass rush help and took Verse, who would’ve been selected even earlier in the 2023 NFL Draft. They also traded up to take Fiske, who fills a huge need. Corum is a workhorse back.

San Francisco 49ers: F

Draft Picks: WR Ricky Pearsall, CB Renardo Green, IOL Dominick Puni, S Malik Mustapha, RB Isaac Guerendo, WR Jacob Cowing, IOL Jarrett Kingston, LB Tatum Bethune,

The 49ers took Pearsall late in the first round, but could have drafted better wide receivers at that spot. Green was also a reach at his draft slot. Puni has good power for the interior.

Seattle Seahawks: B

Draft Picks: DL Byron Murphy, IOL Christian Haynes, LB Tyrice Knight, TE AJ Barner, CB Nehemiah Pritchett, IOL Satoa Laumea, CB DJ James, DL Michael Jarrell,

The Seahawks got a good interior rusher in Murphy, who is an athletic defensive lineman. Haynes is a plug-and-play guard who creates an immediate impact.
