Oklahoma and Texas have been fixtures in the Big 12 since the conference’s inception in 1996. Both have seen successful runs in football and have been competitive in basketball over that span.
The move will change the landscape of both college football and college basketball alike. Both teams are rumored to join the SEC, which will make that conference even more competitive. The Big 12 will need to search for new members, as they will now be down to eight.
