Miller needs to lead Indiana to the NCAA tournament in 2021 otherwise changes could very well be coming at Indiana. Furthermore, over the course of his first three seasons, Indiana has gone 55-43 and never above 500 in the Big Ten. Next, they have their point guard set in place with Kristian Lander leading the offense. They also have Rob Phinisee and Al Durham in the backcourt as well. Furthermore, they have a very solid frontcourt with Trayce Jackson-Davis who should be one of the best forwards in college basketball next season. They also have Joey Brunk inside who will bring solid interior play and toughness while playing more minutes with Justin Smith transferring. Ultimately, there is immense pressure on Miller to deliver for Indiana in Year 4 of his tenure in Bloomington.
Shaka Smart
Smart is entering his sixth season at Texas with great pressure to get Texas to the next level. He has accumulated a record of 90-78 in that time with just two NCAA Tournament appearances. Now, Smart will have the best roster he has had during his time in Texas this season. Matt Coleman is one of the best point guards in the country. Andrew Jones and Courtney Ramey are steady players for Texas’ perimeter. Continued, the emergence of Kai Jones, Brock Cunningham and Will Baker will be crucial for their frontcourt to next the next step forward. The addition of Greg Brown will be massive for Texas to match the veteran core already in Austin. Brown’s contribution will be huge giving them a hybrid forward and a matchup problem. This is Smart’s best team at Texas and best deliver making noise in the Big 12 and the NCAA tournament.
Steve Wojciechowski
Wojciechowski is now entering the seventh season at Marquette and has accumulated a record of 115-81. Furthermore, he has had solid success at Marquette but has yet to reach the success that Buzz Williams had at Marquette. Now, he is entering this season without Markus Howard who has graduated after becoming the Big East’s all-time leading scorer. Therefore, there are major questions on the success they will have this season and the play of Jamal Cain and Koby McEwen will be vital to give consistent perimeter play. Also, losing Brenden Bailey in the frontcourt will be a big factor with Theo John being the only veteran there. They have a very solid recruiting class with Dawson Garcia as an immediate factor in the frontcourt along with, Justin Lewis and Osasere Ighodaro being frontcourt factors as well. Lastly, they will have two guards sitting out in Jose Perez and DJ Carton who will have a future impact on the roster. Wojociehski will have a good amount of pressure to deliver this season.
Andy Enfield
Enfield is heading into his eighth season at USC and has accumulated a record of 132-102 during his tenure. Next, they had a very good recruiting class in 2019 and must get the most out of that and with the addition of one of the top players in the 2020 class with Evan Mobley. Furthermore, Elijah Weaver and Ethan Anderson must continue to elevate their game to give USC a very formidable backcourt. The frontcourt is the key to the success for USC next season with Isaiah Mobley and Evan Mobley leading the way. They also need a very productive season from Max Agbonkpolo on the wing. USC has a lot of talent and Andy Enfield must elevate this team next season to reach its potential.
Jeff Capel
Pittsburgh has not been the same since Jaime Dixon left and the firing Kevin Stallings two seasons into his tenure. Now, Jeff Capel is entering his third season with a record of 30-36 with lacking great momentum into year 3. As for the departure of Trey McCowens who was a key aspect to their backcourt. Furthermore, Xavier Johnson will need to elevate his game to the next level as the go-to guard for Pittsburgh. Continued, Justin Champagnie had a very productive freshman season who should be a major factor for this team. Also, they have a strong hybrid player with Au’Diese Toney who can be a major factor on the wing. Capel must continue to build this roster and show a semblance of progress in year three at Pittsburgh.
