The 2024 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Tip Reiman 2024 NFL Draft Profile.
Tip Reiman Background
Position: Tight End
School: Illinois
Size: 6-foot-5, 271 pounds
Class: Senior
2023 stats: 19 receptions, 203 receiving yards, 10.7 yards per reception, 3 touchdown catches
Reiman waited his turn and progressed well over his college career at Illinois. Now he is in the 2024 NFL Draft.
As a no-star recruit in the class of 2019, Reiman joined Illinois out of the state of South Dakota. He didn’t play much in his first few years on campus. Reiman finally broke out in 2022 when he recorded 19 catches for 174 yards and one touchdown. His play aided Illinois in winning eight games. For the 2023 season, he tallied 19 catches for 203 yards and three touchdowns. His progress didn’t help the team improve, as they won just five games.
Following the 2023 season, Reiman declared for the 2024 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a mid-round pick.
Tip Reiman Strengths
Reiman has good size for an NFL tight end. He is 6-foot-5 and 271 pounds, which is prototypical. With his size comes good strength, which he uses as both a blocker and receiver. He has 32 and 7/8-inch arms, which helps make him a big target for quarterbacks.
In college, he was given the opportunity to prove himself as a run blocker. He has good tenacity and is dedicated to blocking. Reiman can move defenders out of the way to help clear big holes. He also was able to provide solid pass protection when asked.
He has really good hands, as he catches the easy ones with good focus. Reiman can make contested catches against tough coverage. He also is able to make catches off-frame. Reiman has a big catch radius, which makes him a good red zone threat.
Tip Reiman Weaknesses
While he is a good blocker, he can improve his hand usage. His hands can get too wide, which allows defenders to shed blocks easier. He also could activate his hands quicker to help him get a good start on blocks to help sustain them.
He is a decent athlete, especially for his size, but isn’t the quickest. Reiman can struggle to start his routes well and also to start his blocking assignments the best. He can have trouble blocking in space with his limited mobility.
Reiman can find the soft spot against zone coverage, but he has struggles separating against man-to-man coverage. He needs to get in and out of his breaks quicker to help get away from defenses. With this limited separation, Reiman may be resigned to a role of backup tight end.
Projected Draft Range: Third Round Pick-Fifth Round Pick
Draft Grade: Fourth Round Pick
