5. Brazil

Brazil is a treasure trove of cultural and natural inspiration, making it a vibrant contender for a Pokemon region. From the bustling cities of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro to the Amazon rainforest’s mysterious depths, there’s no shortage of possibilities.

• Pokemon Ideas: Carnival could inspire colorful and festive Pokemon, while the Amazon might bring creatures based on jaguars, macaws, or anacondas.
• Unique Features: Coastal areas could feature new Water-types, perhaps sea turtle or coral-inspired Pokemon. The diversity of Brazil’s ecosystems would ensure an exciting and varied adventure.

4. Mexico

Mexico’s rich history and mythology provide an excellent foundation for a Pokemon region. The ancient ruins of Mayan and Aztec civilizations could inspire gyms, dungeons, or even the lair of a villainous team.

• Pokemon Ideas: Day of the Dead could inspire Ghost or Dark-types, while volcanoes might bring new Fire or Ground-types.
• Unique Features: A Pokemon League atop the Sierra Madre mountain range or tropical coastlines teeming with Water-types could add depth to the region.

3. Australia

Australia is a fan-favorite for a Pokemon region, thanks to its incredible biodiversity and unique landscapes.

• Pokemon Ideas: The Outback could house Ground, Rock, and Fire-types, while Water-types could thrive in the Great Barrier Reef. Wildlife like kangaroos, koalas, and platypuses would naturally inspire Pokemon designs.
• Unique Features: The region’s mythological Dreamtime stories could influence legendary Pokemon, and diverse settings—deserts, rainforests, and beaches—would offer endless exploration opportunities.

2. Egypt

Egypt’s iconic mix of history, mythology, and geography makes it an irresistible candidate for a Pokemon region.

• Pokemon Ideas: Legendary Pokemon could draw from Egyptian gods like Anubis and Ra, while Ghost and Psychic-types could stem from pharaohs and afterlife myths.
• Unique Features: The pyramids could serve as puzzle-filled gyms or dungeons, and the Nile River could introduce Water-type Pokemon. Sandstorm mechanics in desert areas could create new gameplay challenges.

1. Greece/Italy/Mediterranean (Code Name: Gaia)

At the top of our list is the Mediterranean region, specifically Greece and Italy. Rumors suggest that the next region’s code name is “Gaia”, which ties perfectly to Greek mythology and the concept of Earth.

• Pokemon Ideas: Legendary Pokemon inspired by gods like Zeus or Poseidon, alongside creatures based on mythological beings like centaurs, hydras, and cyclopes.
• Unique Features: Mount Olympus as the Pokemon League or a central storyline location, and cities modeled after iconic Italian and Greek architecture. The Mediterranean’s sunny coastlines, olive groves, vineyards, and mountains would offer diverse environments for exploration.
