Roark, 32, was traded to the Reds this offseason from the Washington Nationals. He has a 4.24 ERA with a 6-7 record on the season. This has been one of the tougher years of Roark’s career, as he has only had a below .500 record in seven seasons and has a career ERA of 3.66.
The Athletics will hope Roark can provide a boost to their rotation, as they make a playoff push. They are 61-47 this season, which is eight games back in the AL West. Oakland is currently in the second Wild Card spot in the American League.
Cincinnati will receive an outfield prospect in Hannah, who is hitting .283 in advanced A ball this season. Hannah was the A’s eighth-best prospect according to MLB.com.
