This is easily one of the biggest games coming out in December and right before the holidays. It is a free game so the release timing shouldn’t matter too much but it is when players are most likely going to be at home and trying new games.

Also, it was a bit surprising to see this as the release date. It felt like the game was very close to being ready earlier in 2024 during the tests but with the way many companies release content now, it would have surprised anyone if they had delayed some more and released it in 2025. Instead, fans and new players will get to try out the new Marvel game just before the end of the year.

It does not appear as though Marvel Rivals will be on Xbox Game Pass.

This is mainly due to the fact that it is a free game and you can download it from the Microsoft Store at any time. So if you have either of the new Xbox’s or even a PC with Game Pass, you will be able to play this game regardless. There are in-game purchases for things like a battlepass and more. So make sure to keep that in mind.

Marvel Rivals Gameplay

The Marvel Rivals gameplay feels almost exactly like Overwatch.

The major differences are that the map can change based on the damage that you do to it. Also they have team-up abilities where being with certain characters on your team can make it so that your abilities do enhanced moves. Other than that, this is a very similar game and one that will draw plenty of comparisons, in a good way, to Overwatch and Overwatch 2.
