The All-Star defenseman suffered his first upper-body injury at the Stadium Series against the Philadelphia Flyers on Feb.23. The injury caused him to miss 11 games. Last Tuesday, Letang returned against the Carolina Hurricanes from that upper-body injury.
Since his return, he played three games showing no signs of injury. He played his last game against the Dallas Stars with a 24:26 total ice-time. The Penguins could be resting their star defenseman as they are close to clinching the playoffs. Zach Trotman will be put in the defensive lineups for tonight’s game. Trotman, 28, has one assist in 11 games this season for the Penguins.
The Penguins vs Rangers game will start at 7 p.m. ET ( ESPN+, MSG, ATTSN-PT, NHL.TV)
