The Vegas Golden Knights officially signed newly acquired forward Mark Stone to an eight-year extension worth $9.5 million annually.
Stone, 26, was recently acquired by the Golden Knights from the Ottawa Senators at the 2019 Trade Deadline. The Senators acquired Erik Brannstrom, Oscar Lindberg and a 2020 second-round pick.
So far Stone has two assists in five games for his new club. This season he has 28 goals and 64 points in 64 games.
Contract details
The extension includes a no-move clause. Also, $48 million of $76 million is the signing bonus. In the 2020-2021 season, he will be receiving a $7 million bonus. This gives Stone financial protection in what could be a potential lockout season.
