Overwatch continues to bring out the events. Even if not much else is happening with the game, Blizzard are providing in-game events and new skins for people to enjoy. The last one was the Overwatch Archives 2021 which added some great skins but nothing in terms of story. Now Overwatch fans may be wondering what the next Overwatch event is and when it will be? If Blizzard stays with the previous years then Overwatch Anniversary 2021 will be the next event, but when should it happen?

When trying to answer the question of when an event is, looking in the past is almost always the way to go. For the first four years, Overwatch ran the Anniversary events on May 23-June 12 in 2017, May 22-June 11 in 2018, May 21-June 10 in 2019 and May 19-June 9 in 2020.
In what was a bizarre and tumultuous year on its own, the 2020 Overwatch Anniversary actually ran basically when it was meant to. This was different than the Archives event before it which had been moved up.
That means in all likelihood that the Overwatch Anniversary 2021 event will be back on schedule and happening in mid to late May. The best guess is May 18, 2021 as this is right in line with all the events in the past.
A new tweet has confirmed that the Overwatch Anniversary 2021 event will begin on May 18 and end on June 8.
This is around the time that Overwatch was originally released, thus it being the Anniversary event.
If it is any later than those dates then fans will have gone quite a bit of time without any new content or events for the game. Considering nothing else is currently being added to Overwatch, it feels like this event should be coming sooner rather than later.
