The 2022 Runner Up’s are adding another pivotal piece to their 2023 roster. On Wednesday February 22, the San Francisco Shock announced the signing of O2 Blast tank Junbin. Junbin has spent the past few seasons playing in Korean Contenders with O2 Blast, finding significant amounts of success along the way. With O2 Blast, Junbin lead the team to six consecutive first place finishes in Contenders. Junbin joins San Francisco with fellow O2 Blast members Chaw “Heesang” Hee-Sang and Choi “MAX” Su-min.
Junbin joins MAX as the tip of the spear for the San Francisco roster. The two tanks will most likely be splitting duties through the year as metas evolve and mutate. The timing of this signing is much later than some fans would have anticipated. The rest of the new San Francisco members were announced over a last year during the show match with the Dallas Fuel back in December. Junbin as a prospect was one that many saw as a top pick coming out of Contenders. As O2 Blast is the affiliate team of the San Francisco Shock, they had first dibs on signing any of the members of the Contenders roster.

Junbin and the members of the Shock look to replicate last year’s success. With reigning MVP and Rookie of the Year Kim “Proper” Dong-Hyun returning for another year, the Shock are shaping up to make that championship run once again. Fans will get a chance to see this new roster during the Pro-Am tournament this March.
