At 8:00 am EST, on August 20, details for the 2020 OWL season were announced, including the schedule and the homestands for the NYXL. Below is all the information currently available about the homestands including their location, dates and when tickets are expected to go on sale.
2020 Schedule
As of the time of this publication, the NYXL have yet to release an image with their specific schedule, however, the full schedule and key dates can be found by clicking on this link.
Homestand #1
Dates: Feb. 8-9
Location: Hammerstein Ballroom at the Manhattan Center
From an interview with Heather Newman of Forbes, NYXL co-founder, Scott Wilpon, shared the following thoughts on this Hammerstein Ballroom:
We felt it was really important that we find a home in New York City for season one [of home games] and have chosen Hammerstein for a number of reasons, including the fact that it’s got incredible access to public transportation. It sits right on 34th Street between Eighth and Ninth avenues, so Penn station’s right there, you’ve got plenty of subway access, you’ve got access to New Jersey within a couple of blocks.
The venue itself has historically hosted other esports events, so we knew that they had familiarity with the space. Regardless of where you’re sitting in the venue, by seats or from balcony or from luxury suite, it’s really special to see the stage and also to be able to see what will be a unique live experience.
Homestand #2
Dates: May 30-31
Location: TBD
Ticket Information
According to the initial press release, tickets are expected to go on sale on Wednesday, August 28, although tickets will slowly go on sale after that once more details are made available.
