Jia “LiGe” Chengjie is officially the newest member of the Hangzhou Spark. The team announced the signing on Twitter late Sunday evening. This comes hot off the heels of former Spark, Sung-jun “QoQ” Yu, who was released earlier this week.
It’s time for a promising off tank:

LiGe is a D.Va and Zarya main who most recently played for the dominant Team CC in Contenders China. Team CC, most notably, went undefeated during all four weeks of Contenders 2020 Season 2. In fact, the team only recently faced their first defeat at the hands of Flag Gaming in the Grand Finals in a seven games series. Team CC is also the Shanghai Dragons academy team.
This acquisition, in particular, is intriguing as the Spark are deciding to sign a promising prospect as opposed to a veteran like many anticipated. With the market so wide open for Off-tanks, Hangzhou has a good opportunity to sign an experienced player. However, looking at the pedigree of LiGe‘s past may explain how valuable this pickup may be in the long run. The Spark may not be done if LiGe is being signed as a developmental player. But if he is ready for the big stage according to the coaching staff, then the Pink squad have now found their new starting Flex Tank.
