With three weeks left in the regular season, the Dallas Fuel has parted ways with star DPS player Gui-un “Decay” Jang. Signed to the Fuel in October of 2019, Decay has served as the team’s cornerstone hitscan player for much of the 2020 season. According to the official post by the organization, the Fuel has released him from his contract by his own request.
We have granted the request of Gui-un "Decay" Jang to release him from his contract prior to the end of the 2020 OWL season. Our management is focused on evaluating changes and building a cohesive team that will be positioned for future success.

After being traded to the Fuel from the LA Gladiators, Decay has been considered by some to be on the shortlist for the 2020 MVP slot.
In a Twitter post, owner and former Envy CEO Hastr0 said that Decay reportedly “refused to work with our staff. When a player refuses to practice, it’s time for us to move on…”
The announcement comes two days after the official player acquisition deadline of July 31. This means other teams will not be able to pick him up until the offseason.

At time of writing, Decay has not released a statement of his own.
The remaining Fuel DPS players, including Doha, Onigod and AKM, will likely have to scramble to be ready in time for playoffs, which Hastr0 says they are still shooting to win.
The Dallas Fuel go up against the Washington Justice at their next game on August 7.
