The saying “The world could always use more heroes” isn’t taken lightly as there are currently 38 heroes in Overwatch 2. Taking a general look at the heroes doesn’t do them justice in defining their personalities. They each have something special that gives them a sense of identity, however, that may not always be a good thing.
Not every Overwatch “hero” earns that title as some are mean, selfish, or just downright evil. Instead of focusing on the negatives, let’s look at the Overwatch heroes that you hang out with for a few hours if they existed in the real world.

Pharah
Honor, justice, and loyalty are the perfect words to describe Pharah. Despite the struggles she experienced while growing up, she doesn’t let it get in the way of her making the world a better place. She’s committed to anything she puts her mind to and will see it to the very end.
She’ll never let you give up on anything when things get too hard and will give you the push you need. She also loves the unknown, so you can try new things together.
Reinhardt
We’ve all had times in our lives when we were in a rough patch and needed a boost of motivation. Reinhardt is the perfect buddy to have by your side during those moments as this soldier can boost anyone’s morale.
Reinhardt is loyal, courageous, and trustworthy. Wherever he’s near, it’s hard to stay upset as the volume of his voice alone is enough to put a smile on your face. Sure he’s a bit on the talkative side at times, but it’s still worth it.
Winston
Winston is arguably one of the smartest characters in Overwatch. His curiosity often gets the better of him as he’s constantly trying to find new ways to make the world a better place. He’s a literal well of knowledge and you can learn a thing or two from him.
Word of caution, don’t make him lose his temper as he’ll turn into a raging gorilla. Make sure you have a jar of peanut butter and bananas on hand to calm him down. They’re his favorite.
Orisa
Just because she’s an omnic doesn’t mean she lacks emotions. Orisa is a sweetheart with a heart of gold and a caring personality. Her prime directive is to keep people safe and she does just that.
Not only will you feel safe around her, but she also loves listening to music, so you can also have a nice jam session with her. What Orisa lacks in experience she makes up for by being the best friend/ally of those around her. She’ll never upset you.
Symmetra
Wanting to do what’s best for society, Symmetra isn’t afraid to be a risk-taker. With the ability to bend reality itself, she only chooses to do so if that means creating the perfect world for not only herself, but for those she holds close.
Symmetra is someone who finds themselves on the autism spectrum and struggles with social interactions at times, however, she doesn’t let it hold her back at all. Just being around her reassures you that you’ll always have someone in your corner.
Genji
Unlike his brother Hanzo, Genji has a more positive outlook on society. Being someone who struggled to come to terms with his augmented body, Genji used to have a negative take on life. However, after making peace with his reality, he started looking at life differently.
Genji teaches a lesson in learning to love yourself for who you are and knows a thing about fighting personal demons. Having deep conversations with Genji can also be therapeutic and teach you things you never knew about yourself.
Lúcio
You bring the snacks and Lúcio will bring some amazing tunes. Lúcio wants to change the world but not through physical violence, with his music. With his positive attitude and infectious smile, he plans to do just that. He always tries his best to look after those less fortunate whenever possible.
With Lúcio by your side, you can always expect a jam session to break out at any given moment. It’s hard to be upset whenever he’s around. We all need a friend like Lúcio.
Mei
The odds could be one million to one and that wouldn’t scare Mei one bit. She’s optimistic, cheerful, and always looking for ways to be creative. Being a scientist, she’s extremely intelligent and wants to protect the environment from all forms of chaos.
Sure at times she can be a bit quirky, but that just adds to her charm even more. Mei won’t let anything bad happen to you and will cheer you up in an instant whenever you’re down. She’s A-Mei-Zing to be around.
D.VA
D.VA being a professional gamer means you can either have a friend or a rival to always be competing with. D.VA never backs down from competition and plays to win no matter the scenario. She’s carefree and even humorous at certain times.
Other than being a pro gamer, D.VA is also intelligent and a quick thinker. She cares about protecting the people that she loves and will risk it all to do just that. Nothing but good times can come from her.
Kiriko
Kiriko always fills the room with witty humor and laughs. You can always find her teasing someone or making jokes. She’s young, smart, athletic, and knows when to be serious when she has to be.
Kirko is the ideal friend as she can do it all. She won’t sugercoat anything if you need her honest opinion, but at the same time, she can be a joy to be near. She also has a sweet tooth too so expect lots of donuts in the future.
