Tomorrow the NHL will announce Dallas as the hosts of the 2020 Winter Classic, according to John Shannon. The announcement will be made during the second intermission of the 2019 NHL Winter Classic between the Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins.
The outdoor game at Dallas will be the first Winter Classic at a warm-weathered city. In the past decade, teams that are based in warm-weathered cities hosted the outdoor games in the NHL Stadium Series. These venues included Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles and Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
The opponent against the Dallas Stars is currently unknown. The venue has also not been announced. The possible venues include AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Globe Life Park or the Cotton Bowl. More announcements will be made soon.
Tomorrow’s 2019 Winter Classic will start at 1 p.m. EST at Norte Dame Stadium.
