The quarter of the NFL season is in the books. Six teams remain undefeated so far this season. Here is how each team rank coming into Week 5 of the NFL season:
6. The Tennessee Titans
The Titans have had a good start to the season. The offense put up all the work for them due to struggles from the defense. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill is picking up from where he left off last season as he continues to surprise football fans with his success. With three games played, Tannehill has 70 completions, 809 passing yards and six touchdown passes.
Running back Derrick Henry and tight end Jonnu Smith are also having great starts to the season as well. With three games played, Henry has totaled 319 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns while Smith has totaled 13 receptions, 1,818 yards gained and three touchdown catches.
If the Titans want to keep their hot streak going, they must improve their defense. The star of the defensive line is Kenny Vaccaro, who leads the team with 22 tackles. The Titans’ defense gave up 60 points in three games, however it’s the offense that came up on top in each victory.
Will the Titans keep their unbeaten streak after Week 5?
No. The current coronavirus outbreak on the Titans has put a setback on the team, as their week 4 game was postponed to later in the season. They will also be inviting the undefeated Buffalo Bills to Nissan Stadium, which will be one of the hardest test for the Titans this season to prove how solid of a team they can be.
5. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers undefeated start has come as a shock for some fans. With Ben Roethlisberger’s injury history, the Steelers are exceeding their expectations so far this season.
Their most entertaining player is wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster has had a hot start to the season. With three games played, Smith-Schuster so far has totaled 17 receptions, 160 yards gained and three touchdown catches. Though Big Ben has slowed down in the recent years due to age, he is having a decent start with 73 completions, 777 passing yards and seven touchdown passes so far this season.
There’s no secret that the first three games for the Steelers have been against teams who are not expected to make the playoffs. However, the next couples of games will be difficult, with games against the surprisingly good Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans, Baltimore Ravens and Dallas Cowboys. If the Steelers can manage to win three of those four games, they will be a top contender in the NFC this season
Will the Steelers keep their unbeaten streak after Week 5?
Yes. The Eagles have been struggling so far this season. Though the Steelers also had an unexpected BYE last week due to the COVID-19 outbreak on the Titans, they will find success this weekend at Heinz Field against their rival city.
4. Buffalo Bills
The best story this season in the NFL is the success from the Buffalo Bills. For the first time since 2008, the AFC East is not dominated by the Patriots after the first four games. The last time the Bills won the AFC East was back in 1995, and they have a very good chance of winning it this season for the first time this century.
The Bills’ success is thanks to quarterback Josh Allen. Allen is putting up early MVP numbers with 105 completions, 1,326 passing yards, 12 touchdown passes and three rushing touchdowns so far this season.. Allen is accompanied by the trio of wide receivers Stefon Diggs, John Brown and Gabriel Davis, who share two touchdown catches each.
The Bills should be a little concerned with their defense, having given up 55 points in the last two games, compared to the first two games of only given up 45 points. The Bills will have one of the most difficult stretches coming up, with games against the Tennessee Titans, Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks.
Will the Bills keep their unbeaten streak after Week 5?
Yes. It will be a difficult game, but the Bills have a better talented team than the Titans. Also with the Titans coming off a week shutdown due to COVID-19 outbreak on the team, the Bills will come out dominating in the start of the game, extending their undefeated start.
3. Green Bay Packers
Aaron Rodgers has still got it. He has led his Green Bay Packers to four straight victories, including wins against the New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings. Injuries on the squad will not stop Rodgers from leading his team to victory. He uses the players he has on the squad and makes them stars.
One of these players is undrafted wide receiver Allen Lazard, who has been a big part of the Packers offense. With three games played, Lazard so far has totaled 13 receptions, 254 yards gained and two touchdown catches. Though Lazard has been out with a core muscle injury, running back Aaron Jones and tight end Robert Tonyan have been key parts to the Packers’ offense. Jones has totaled 374 rushing yards with four rushing touchdowns and Tonyan has totaled 13 receptions, 173 yards gained and five touchdown catches.
Not only has the offense been dominating, but so has their defense. Linebacker Christian Kirksey and Kyrs Barnes have managed to be a brick walls for many opposing teams’ offense with 52 tackles combined in just four games. The Packers offense has also managed to score 30+ points in four games, all thanks to their start quarterback, who has shut down all his haters in the first four games of the season.
Will the Packers keep their unbeaten streak after Week 5?
Yes. The Packers have a BYE week so they will keep their undefeated record until Week 6 when they visit Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Raymond James Stadium.
2. Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks are on fire. They have dominated in four straight games, while also defeating both the Dallas Cowboys and the New England Patriots. The Seahawks offense has also managed to score 30+ points in the first for games of the season.
Russell Wilson is having one of the best seasons yet so far. With four games played Wilson so far has totaled 103 completions, 1,285 passing yards, 16 touchdown passes and two rushing touchdowns. One of the stars of the offense is running back Chris Carson, who so far has 237 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
The wide receiver duo of DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett deserve most of the credit for why the Seahawks offense has been so successful this season. The two players alone combined already have 36 receptions, 701 yards gained and seven touchdown catches. The defense for the Seahawks, however, look a little shaky. Linebacker Bobby Wagner is having a great season in the defense as he leads the team so far with 38 tackles.
Will the Seahawks keep their unbeaten streak after Week 5?
Yes. The Seahawks next opponent is a struggling Minnesota Vikings. They should not have an issue taking a victory, however the Seahawks will have a difficult schedule coming up. As long as Wilson continues to put up MVP numbers and his wide receivers give him support, the Seahawks can be a contender for a Super Bowl this season.
1. Kansas City Chiefs
There is no doubt here that the Chiefs are the best team in the NFL so far this season. With a Super Bowl MVP as the quarterback, it is expected for the team to be elite. Despite a hiccup against the Los Angeles Chargers, the Chiefs have been untouchable in both the offense and defense.
Patrick Mahomes is playing as expected, as he so far has 101 completions, 1,134 passing yards, 11 touchdown passes, and one rushing touchdown. Tyreek Hill is also having a great start to the season, after being suspended for the first four games of last season. Hill has 19 receptions, 286 yards gained, and four touchdown catches in four games this season. Tight end Travis Kelce is also having a great start, with 24 receptions, 297 yards gained and two touchdown catches.
The Baltimore Ravens are the Chiefs biggest rival so far this season for the NFC Championship, and they dominated them with a 34-20 victory over the Ravens during Week 3. They also defeated a Cam Newton-less Patriots 26-10 during Monday Night Football.
Will the Chiefs keep their unbeaten streak after Week 5?
Yes. There is not a lot stopping the Chiefs this season. They have shown how dominant this team really is and they will continue their unbeaten streak through Week 5 of the NFL season.
