This series will take a look and predict all 18 games on the 2022 Philadelphia Eagles schedule starting at week one. The Eagles feature one of the easiest schedules in the league. That should only strengthen their playoff odds in 2022. The Eagles are also on primetime television quite a bit in 2022. The Eagles have two Sunday night games against the Cowboys and the Packers. Furthermore, they also have a Thursday night matchup against the Texans. Lastly, they have two Monday night games against the Vikings and the Commanders. Part one of this series will include the Eagles’ Week One to Week Three games.
Week One at Lions, 9/11, Fox, 1 PM
This game was touched on already in a different article. This will be the Eagles’ first regular-season game and will be the first time the Eagles starters will be in action for a full game. This Eagles’ squad will be coming into this game with high expectations facing a Lions team that only won three games last year. This is a tricky game with these high expectations and Eagles fans could be in for a letdown. However, this should not be the case. Jalen Hurts should show signs of improvement from last season in this game. Furthermore, Devonta Smith and A.J. Brown should prove why they are one of the more dangerous wide receiver combos in the NFL. Â It is predicted that the Eagles should win this game by double digits.
Prediction: Eagles win- 24-14
Week Two vs Vikings, 9/19, ABC, 8:30 PM
The Eagles will be put in the spotlight early in the regular season with their Monday night matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. The Eagles face a dangerous offense that includes Kirk Cousins. He had over 4,000 passing yards and 33 touchdowns just a year ago. He led the Vikings to an 8-9 season and had a chance to earn a wildcard spot at the end of the season but came up just short. This Minnesota team does feature more weapons in Dalvin Cook and Justin Jefferson. Â Jefferson had over 1,600 receiving yards last season and 10 touchdowns.
However, the Eagles have weapons of their own, but they still have a young quarterback at the helm which will be their downfall in this game. Cousins will out-duel Hurts in a close game in Philadelphia.
Prediction: Eagles Lose- 28-31
Week Three at Commanders, 9/25, Fox, 1 PM
Eagles fans should see a familiar face at the helm for Washington in this game. Carson Wentz was traded from the Colts earlier in the offseason to the Commanders. Wentz did not have a bad year statistically with Indy, as he had over 3,000 yards and 27 touchdowns. However, he lost a late-season game to a bad Jaguars team that knocked them out of the play race. The Eagles will be itching to beat their former quarterback, who left Philly on a rather sour note. The Commanders’ defense struggled last year after being speculated to have one of the best defenses going into 2021. Their defense should be okay going into this season but definitely not the best. The Eagles should win this game by a pretty good margin. They have more weapons and a better defense. They also have a lot more riding on this season than the Commanders do.
Prediction: Eagles Win-28-14
The Eagles have a predicted record of 2-1 going into the next article which will predict Weeks 4-7. This concludes part one of looking at and predicting the Philadelphia Eagles 2022 schedule.
