NFL week 7 is here. Picking NFL games straight up is hard enough, but picking against the spread is even tougher. Here are the NFL week 7 picks against the spread. (Spreads are from tallysight.com as of Wednesday morning)
Last week: 5-9, Overall: 50-41
Thursday Night
New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles (-4)
The Giants have not yet won a road game and are also on a short week. Philadelphia has a lot of injuries, but Carson Wentz will lead them to a victory on Thursday night.
Pick: Eagles
Sunday Afternoon
Buffalo Bills (-13) at New York Jets
After getting blown out by the Dolphins, the Jets shouldn’t be expected to keep a game with the Bills within two touchdowns. Buffalo will want to get back on track after losing to the Chiefs on Monday night.
Pick: Bills
Green Bay Packers (-3.5) at Houston Texans
Although the Texans are playing better since firing Bill O’Brien and the Packers struggled against the Bucs, Green Bay should be able to get back on track. The Packers will win and cover on the road.
Pick: Packers
Cleveland Browns (-3) at Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals are playing better, but they still blew a 21-0 lead against the Colts. Their coaching needs to be better and so does their offensive line and defense. Cleveland will pressure Joe Burrow and will run the ball well to cover.
Pick: Browns
Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints (-7.5)
New Orleans has had a plethora of issues this season. They still have the talent to win a game at home against the Panthers, but Carolina has been a really scrappy team this season and will keep it close.
Pick: Panthers
Detroit Lions at Atlanta Falcons (-2.5)
A lot of Detroit’s early losses could be attributed to injuries, but with some of their key players back, they should be able to keep it close or win on the road. The Falcons have a win now, but still need a lot of help on their defense.
Pick: Lions
Dallas Cowboys at Washington Football Team
There is no spread on this game, as both teams are really struggling. While the Cowboys didn’t play well against the Cardinals on Monday night, they do have the better roster overall and should be able to win this game with Andy Dalton at quarterback.
Pick: Cowboys
Pittsburgh Steelers (-2) at Tennessee TitansÂ
The Steelers have found new weapons over the last few weeks, which adds to their offense. With their defense already having elite players, Pittsburgh shouldn’t lose too many games the rest of the way.
Pick: Steelers
Sunday Evening
Seattle Seahawks (-3.5) at Arizona Cardinals
Arizona destroyed the Cowboys, which might help them get things back on track in the tough NFC West. The Seahawks will likely win the game, but Kyler Murray will keep it close.
Pick: Cardinals
Kansas City Chiefs (-9.5) at Denver Broncos
The Broncos have had some injuries, but are still playing tough. This game is also projected to be played in bad weather, which should keep things close, even if the Chiefs do win.
Pick: Broncos
San Francisco 49ers at New England Patriots (-2.5)
The 49ers got a big win over the Rams this past week, but still have a lot of injuries and issues. New England will be prepared and won’t have to travel across the country.
Pick: Patriots
Jacksonville Jaguars at Los Angeles Chargers (-8)
Both these teams have just one win, which makes the spread ridiculous. The Chargers have a lot more talent, so they may win, but Gardner Minshew will keep it within a touchdown.
Pick: Jaguars
Sunday Night
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-3) at Las Vegas Raiders
Jon Gruden will be playing against the team he won the Super Bowl with. The Bucs seemed to hit their stride in their win over the Packers and will be carrying that momentum into this week.
Pick: Bucs
Monday Night
Chicago Bears at Los Angeles Rams (-5.5)Â
The Rams did not look good against the 49ers. They may win this game, but the Bears’ defense will be able to keep it close.
Pick: Bears
