NFL Week 18 is here. Picking NFL games straight up is hard enough, but picking against the spread is even tougher. Here are the NFL week Wild Card Round picks against the spread. (Spreads are from Tallysight as of Tuesday morning)
Last week: 6-10
Season: 149-116-4
Los Angeles Chargers (-2.5) at Houston Texans
The Texans get the home game in this one, but they have not been playing the best football. Justin Herbert has protected the football this season, only throwing three interceptions. His ability to protect the football gives the Chargers the edge in this game.
Pick: Chargers
Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens (-9.5)
The Ravens will likely win this game, but it could be close as they are playing a division rival. Pittsburgh faded down the stretch, but they do have the defense to limit Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry. If the offense can get anything going, they can keep it to single digits.
Pick: Steelers
Denver Broncos at Buffalo Bills (-8.5)
Before week 18, when Josh Allen started then immediately came out of the game, the Bills had won 11 of 12 games. They are undefeated at home this season. Denver is coming off a good game against the Chiefs, but they were playing their backups. Buffalo should be able to defend their home turf.
Pick: Bills
Green Bay Packers at Philadelphia Eagles (-4.5)
Jordan Love and Christian Watson both left the Packers’ week 18 game against the Bears. Watson looks like he’ll be out, while Love will play. He is experiencing numbness in his elbow, which will make things tough. Jalen Hurts is likely to clear concussion protocol this week and the Eagles can run the ball and cover with the Packers struggling to keep up with the offensive injuries.
Pick: Eagles
Washington Commanders at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-3.5)
Tampa Bay is coming off a game they really struggled to win against the Saints. It was a must-win game for the Bucs, which is concerning. Washington, with Jayden Daniels saying he’s relatively healthy after leaving their week 18 game, can put up enough points on the Bucs’ defense to pull off the upset.
Pick: Commanders
Minnesota Vikings (-2.5) at Los Angeles Rams
Minnesota didn’t look good in week 18 against the Detroit Lions. Now they have to travel to take on the Rams. Even with key players sitting out, the Rams looked good against the Seahawks. Their defense has come together this season and Matthew Stafford can handle the Brian Flores defense throwing curveballs at him
Pick: Rams
