NFL Week 16 is here. Picking NFL games straight up is hard enough, but picking against the spread is even tougher. Here are the NFL week 16 picks against the spread. (Spreads are from Tallysight as of Tuesday morning)
Last Week: 7-9, Season: 100-118-6
Thursday Night Football
Jacksonville Jaguars at New York Jets (EVEN)
The Jaguars are hot right now, but the Jets have a great defense and are playing this game at home. They should be able to win on a short week.
Pick: Jets
Christmas Eve-Saturday
Cincinnati Bengals (-3.5) at New England Patriots
The Bengals are on a roll right now and are taking care of business, even with some slow starts. New England doesn’t have the firepower to keep up.
Pick: Bengals
Buffalo Bills (-9) at Chicago Bears
Buffalo will win this game, but with Justin Fields playing so much better recently, the Bears can keep it close much like they did against the Eagles.
Pick: Bears
New Orleans Saints at Cleveland Browns (-3)
Cleveland has won three of their last four games and Deshaun Watson is starting to knock some of the rust off. They can win a cold game against the Saints.
Pick: Browns
Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans (-7)
Houston has started to play better the last two weeks, but they have not stopped the run well this season and now have to play Derrick Henry.
Pick: Titans
Seattle Seahawks at Kansas City Chiefs (-9.5)
Seattle has faded after a hot start. They will be without Tyler Lockett in this game as well, which will make it tough to keep up with the Chiefs.
Pick: Chiefs
New York Giants at Minnesota Vikings (-3)
The Vikings have some confidence after completing the biggest comeback in NFL history. They also had extra time to prepare for this game. Minnesota’s offense will be too much for the Giants.
Pick: Vikings
Detroit Lions (-2.5) at Carolina Panthers
Detroit is on fire right now. They have won six of their last seven games and are now playing for a playoff spot. Carolina still has a chance at the playoffs as well, but that’s because the NFC South has been non-competitive.
Pick: Lions
Atlanta Falcons at Baltimore Ravens (-7.5)
There is a chance that Lamar Jackson plays this week. The Ravens need to win the game, so they will be focused. Their running game is perfect for the cold weather and their defense will be able to slow down the Falcons.
Pick: Ravens
Washington Commanders at San Francisco 49ers (-7)
Washington has been playing better, but San Francisco is a tough team, even with Brock Purdy at quarterback. The 49ers can win and cover at home.
Pick: 49ers
Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys (-6)
Jalen Hurts will likely miss this game with a shoulder injury. The Eagles still have Gardner Minshew, who can keep it close with the rest of the talent on the Eagles’ roster, even if the Cowboys win.
Pick: Eagles
Las Vegas Raiders at Pittsburgh Steelers (-2.5)
Pittsburgh may have Kenny Pickett back for this game. The Raiders have been playing well lately though, winning four of their last five games.
Pick: Raiders
Christmas Day- Sunday
Green Bay Packers at Miami Dolphins (-5.5)
Green Bay will be banged up and coming off a short week. Miami just played Buffalo really well in week 15. The Dolphins should be able to win and cover at home.
Pick: Dolphins
Denver Broncos (-1.5) at Los Angeles Rams
Denver may have Russell Wilson back, but he hasn’t been great this season. The Rams haven’t been great either, but it is safer to take the points with the Rams being at home.
Pick: Rams
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-5.5) at Arizona Cardinals
The Tampa Bay defense is getting healthier and they need to win this game to help their playoff chances. Arizona will be without starting quarterback Kyler Murray.
Pick: Buccaneers
Monday Night Football
Los Angeles Chargers (-4) at Indianapolis Colts
It’s going to be really tough for the Colts to get back emotionally after blowing a 33-point lead. Add to that the fact that the Chargers are still fighting for a playoff spot, and they should cover.
Pick: Chargers
