Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman underwent a shoulder surgery last week. This is a continuation of a tumultuous offseason for the Super Bowl MVP. He was also arrested for misdemeanor vandalism on January 12. He allegedly jumped on the hood of a Mercedes in Beverly Hills, causing damage to the car.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Edelman should be ready for the season on Tuesday.
Patriots’ WR Julian Edelman underwent a shoulder procedure last week that is said to involve “not a lengthy rehab” and is expected to have him ready for the team’s offseason program, per league source.

Edelman is a three-time Super Bowl champion with New England. He also won Super Bowl MVP in Super Bowl 53. The Patriots missed their opportunity for a third-straight trip to the final game of the season after losing to the Tennessee Titans on Wild Card Weekend.
He played in all 16 games of the 2019 season, despite apparent shoulder trouble. Although, he only started in 13 of those games. Heavily targeted, he hauled in 100 of 153 targets this season. Racking up 1117 yards and six touchdowns, Edelman was one of the few bright spots on the New England offense.
The aforementioned offense will have many questions hanging over it in the 2020 offseason. This is mostly due to Tom Brady perhaps leaving New England as he enters the first true unrestricted free agent period of his long career. In any case, Edelman should be back at full strength in time for the new season.
