Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook has officially been ruled out for Sunday’s matchup against the Detroit Lions. Cook is being held out due to a shoulder injury, being identified as a dislocated shoulder that was originally going to designate him as day-to-day.
The Minnesota Vikings’ official Twitter account announced the news on Friday afternoon.

Cook has played in only nine games out of an available 12, including the upcoming Week 13 matchup. He has rushed 171 times for 773 yards and four touchdowns in those nine contests. He also has 27 receptions for 202 yards on the season.
The Vikings sit at 5-6 through 12 weeks, which is good enough for second place in the NFC North. Their next game is a divisional matchup against the winless Lions, who sit at 0-10-1. Camryn Bynum and Christian Darrisaw are also out in Week 13.
