The Cowboys have signed defensive lineman Takk McKinley to their practice squad. He had previously worked out for the Cowboys in the summer, but was not signed. This will be the third team for which he’s played in 2022 alone.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Wednesday.
McKinley, a former first round selection in the 2017 NFL Draft, was an Atlanta Falcon until 2020. It was reported that he had privately asked to be traded several times, but the team rejected trade offers for him. He, then, bounced around to the Raiders, Browns, Titans and Rams (the latter two during this season).
Although he never made it off of the practice squad in Tennessee, he played four games for the Rams this season. McKinley played 18 total snaps and grabbed only one tackle. His best season was his sophomore year, when he set a career high of seven sacks.
