The Dallas Cowboys continue to make moves to shore up their defense. They have agreed to a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders for defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins just hours after signing a cornerback to deal with the loss of Jourdan Lewis. Dallas will send a 2023 sixth-rounder in return for Haskins and a 2024 seventh-rounder.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
This is Hankins’ 10th NFL season after being a second round draft pick of the Giants back in 2013. He played there for four years before joining the Colts for one year and then the Raiders in 2018. His last two seasons have been played on one-year contracts.
In his 10-year career, Hankins has collected 337 combined tackles, 14.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and eight pass deflections. His highest sack total came in 2014, when he had seven. So far in 2022, he’s played in five games and racked up 10 tackles.
