The new year is finally here and while many people are thankful just for the fact that it is not 2021, LCS fans are thankful for a different reason. They are thankful because a new year means a new season of the LCS. Most of the teams completely rehauled their teams from their 2020 rosters and are either looking to start anew or built their roster to compete for an LCS title and Worlds contention. That said, fans are likely wondering, what is the 2021 LCS Start Date?
Checkout each Team’s Schedule & the LEC’s Start Date Below:
The LCS changed its format again in 2021. This year’s games in the Spring will contribute towards an LCS playoff to decide who wins an LCS Championship and also who goes to MSI. The change starts with the fact that the team’s records will carry over into the Summer. Their Spring wins and losses will go towards their Summer record as well and help decide the seeding for the Summer playoffs which also decides who will go to Worlds.
To top it all off there is a “Lock-In” Tournament to start the season where teams will compete for a prize. Not to mention the fact that there will be more games than ever this season. Teams will play Friday, Saturday and Sunday now which means there is a double Round Robin in the Spring and a Triple in the Summer.
To say there has been a lot added might be an understatement. The Lock-In Tournament will begin on January 15. This will be the beginning of the season technically but the 2021 LCS regular season Start Date will be on February 6. Between the tournament and the extra days of games, LCS fans will definitely get their fill of League of Legends games in 2021.
