The LCS 2024 season is about to begin. This offseason was a doozy for the league as three teams left in TSM, Evil Geniuses and Golden Guardians. Only one of those spots were filled with Shopify Rebellion taking over TSM’s slot and the LCS was cut down to eight teams. But now fans are wanting to know more about their team as we head toward the start of the season. Here is The Game Haus’ Shopify Rebellion 2024 LCS Spring Split Preview.

Who are Shopify Rebellion?
Shopify Rebellion are a Canadian-owned organization that have been making a lot of moves since starting in 2021. They are currently in seven different esports, Dota 2, Halo, Rocket League, Star Craft 2, Valorant, Street Fighter and now League of Legends.
The spot Shopify Rebellion bought this offseason was previously owned by Team Solo Mid who decided to exit the LCS after 10 seasons and seven championships. They kept some of the players from the last TSM team, who are all listed below.
2024 Spring Split Roster
Top- FakeGod
Jng- Bugi
Mid- Insanity
Bot- Bvoy
Sup- Zeyzal
This starting lineup for SR sees the return of Bugi and Insanity. The two were one of the major surprises in the LCS last split while with TSM. They will be the focal point of this squad, especially to start the Split. The mid-jungle duo is easily one of the most important in professional League of Legends and it may be enough to see SR surprise some teams early on.
They will also rely on three players with plenty of experience and varying levels of success. Bvoy saw some time in the LEC and was one of the better players down in Brazil. Zeyzal made it to the LCS Finals and lost but also was part of the same C9 team that went to the semi-finals at Worlds in 2018. He is one of the brighter minds in the LCS and an interesting player to watch. Lastly is FakeGod, once a former top prospect who has similarly bounced around before landing with Shopify Rebellion and has flashed some of that potential in the past.
2024 Spring Split Player to Watch: Insanity
This is an instance where your best player is also the one to watch. It is because of this that every other team will be focused on how to shut him and Bugi down. This is not to say that the rest of the team will not be able to contribute, but as noted above, the mid-jungle duo is important and it is the only part of SR that actually has any initial synergy.
Insanity has shown that he is adaptable and willing to do whatever is necessary to win. This drive is what helped TSM be such a surprise team in 2023 and should only help now that he has a more solidified spot on a team. With a full offseason with Bugi, it stands to reason that Insanity could surprise again as one of the best mids in the LCS.
Predicted Spring Placement: 6th
The range of outcomes for SR is certainly one of the more interesting stories, at least on the team side, heading into 2024. Will fans see them as TSM or as their own entity? Will the expectation be a deep playoff run as it was with TSM or “just make it in and let’s see”, as many do with new orgs joining a league? These questions will be answered quickly as the pressure to perform will still be there for the orgs first split.
Shopify Rebellion will be one of the teams that may start the season well due to nearly every player being a veteran and it is worth mentioning again, the mid-jungle duo already have a good relationship. The issues will start once the rest of the teams start to come together. Sadly, this is because many of the players on this team are a known quantity, to some degree. Their ceiling is limited but their floor is higher than most. There is a world where they finish top four but it will require them to all be at their best. For now, sixth feels like a safe bet where they ride their early winning into a playoff spot and see where things go from there.
