Team Liquid recently announced that Dhokla has joined Team Liquid as starting top laner for their Academy team. Spawn explained the acquisition on TL’s Youtube channel, stating “we needed someone who would fit the playstyle that Jenkins left.” Dhokla’s experience and style should slot right into TLA’s gameplan, according to the Academy coach. They are looking to continue playing through top lane.
This announcement follows Alphari taking several weeks off and Jenkins substituting into the LCS team. Dhokla joins to relieve Jenkins from playing four Academy League games per week, so he can focus solely on LCS. Dhokla most recently played for Wildcard Gaming Red, alongside ex-LCS bottom laner Arrow. The amateur team just finished winning Challengers Uprising Season 3, qualifying to Summer Proving Grounds. Prior to that Dhokla played on TSM Academy, where they finished second after losing 1-3 to Cloud9 Academy in the finals.
TLA currently holds third place in the Academy League. Their 2-2-1 record has TLA tied with FlyQuest Academy, just behind 100 Thieves Academy and Cloud9 Academy. TLA finished second place in Academy League Spring Split, but fell short in the first round of Proving Grounds versus Barrage. Dhokla will look to help carry over that regular season success through to the end of the year.
