Killer Instinct celebrates its 10th Anniversary by launching a new version of the game. Iron Galaxy Studios had shared the news with players regarding an update that will celebrate the game’s 10th anniversary The update itself will provide a massive visual upgrade for current-gen systems, along with a fresh balance pass. Not only that, but players who own the Killer Instinct Definitive Edition will receive the update to the Anniversary Edition for free. What’s In The Killer Instinct Anniversary Edition?
The Anniversary Edition of Killer Instinct will include access to all 29 fighters, as well as all premium content ever released for the fighting game. VIP Double XP boosters, holiday accessories, and more. Those who wish to continue playing the game for free will be able to play various game modes with a free weekly rotating fighter, including online multiplayer.” With this update, the Definitive Edition will be discontinued and replaced with the Anniversary Edition. The Anniversary Edition itself will cost $29.99 for those who didn’t previously own the Definitive Editon.
Killer Instinct Is Now Free-To-Play On Steam
Unlike its console counterparts, Killer Instinct never became free-to-play on Steam until today. Players on PC originally had to pay for the Definitive Edition in order to play the hit fighting game. With PC players who already purchased the game being upgraded to the Aniversary Edition for free, the game is now free to play on PC. Anybody who purchased the Definitive Edition regardless of what platform they play on will automatically receive the Aniversary Edition.
