Apex Legends Season 14 is bringing major weapon changes including the return of fan favorite hop-ups. Hop-ups are attachments that provide buffs to specific weapon when equipped. Two powerful hop-ups previously removed from the game are making their return. The Apex Legends Skullpiercer and Double Tap hop-ups are back in Season 14.

The Skullpiercer Rifling increases the weapon’s headshot multiplier. The deadly hop-up can be equipped on the Longbow and Wingman just as before. Now, the Skullpiercer can also be attached to the 30-30 Repeater for the first time. Accurate players can knock their enemies rapidly with the Skullpiercer.
In addition to the infamous Skullpiercer, the Double Tap hop-up is also returning to the loot pool. Double Tap allows the G7 Scout and EVA-8 shotgun to fire two shots at once. When it was last available, the Double Tap was very powerful and output high damage. The G7 Scout, previously only available in Care Packages, returns to the ground in Season 14, so players have more opportunities to equip the new hop-up.
A returning hop-ups are just a small part of a larger weapon meta shake-up. In Season 14, Respawn is making drastic weapon changes including making the Wingman a sniper, swapping Care Package weapons, and switching the crafting rotation. Players can enjoy a wide variety of guns with new perks in the new season.
All of these changes and a few more will go live when Apex Legends Season 14 starts on August 9.
