The Warriors lost Kevin Durant in free agency and will have to deal with Klay Thompson coming back from injury, but they have retooled the roster well with the additions of Cauley-Stein and D’Angelo Russell. Cauley-Stein will likely replace DeMarcus Cousins as the starting center for the Warriors, as Cousins is a free agent.
Cauley-Stein, 25, was the sixth overall pick by the Sacramento Kings in the 2016 NBA Draft. Although he was a restricted free agent he did not want to remain with the Kings and asked to not be given a qualifying offer. He averaged 11.9 points and 8.4 rebounds per game last season.
