One of the biggest strategies in fantasy football is streaming defenses. Each week owners will look at matchups and make waiver wire acquisitions to find their starting defense. Here are fantasy football defenses to stream in week 14. (Note: All defenses mentioned are owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues. Stats from before Monday Night Football)
1. Seattle Seahawks
Seattle has an above-average fantasy defense this season, ranking 13th at 5.7 points per game. They have three double-digit scoring games, which were against the Giants and the Cardinals twice. The Seahawks also have had two negative-scoring performances, with the most recent one coming against the Raiders.
In week 14, the Seahawks will play the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers score just 19.2 points per game and have had trouble finding a reliable quarterback this season. Seattle can have one of their better games of the season. They are rostered in 48.8 percent of ESPN leagues.
2. Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs have been an average fantasy defense, ranking 16th at 5.4 points per game. They have scored double-digit points twice, against the 49ers and Rams. Their only negative-scoring performance was against the Bengals in week 13.
The week 14 matchup for the Chiefs is the Broncos. Denver scores a league-worst 13.8 points per game and haven’t figured things out with Russell Wilson at quarterback. While the Chiefs’ defense has just been average, they can have a great day against the Broncos. They are rostered in 42.8 percent of ESPN leagues.
3. Cincinnati Bengals
Cincinnati has had a below-average fantasy defense this season, ranking 22nd and scoring 4.7 points per game. They have one double-digit scoring performance, when they notched 15 points against the Jets. There have been no negative-scoring games for the Bengals this season.
The Browns travel to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals in week 14. The Browns are averaging 24.2 points per game, but that average may not mean much now that Deshaun Watson is back from suspension. Watson looked rusty against the Texans and it might take him some more time before he regains his form. Cincinnati has a lot to play for, so they should play well. They are available in nearly 65 percent of ESPN leagues.
4. Tennessee Titans
The Titans have been a middle-of-the-pack fantasy defense, scoring 5.2 points and ranking 18th. They have scored double-digit points three different times this season, against the Broncos, Texans and Colts. Tennessee does have two negative-scoring performances, which were against the Eagles and Bills.
In week 14, the Titans play the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars score 21.5 points per game, which isn’t bad, but Trevor Lawrence was banged up in their last game. He should start, as he returned to the week 13 game, but he may not be 100 percent. The Titans have had some solid outings this year and this could be another one. They are rostered in 27.4 percent of ESPN leagues.
5. Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders have not been a good fantasy defense this season, ranking 30th at 3.1 points per game. They have just one double-digit performance, which came against the Broncos. Las Vegas has three negative-scoring performances one to the Chargers, another to the Saints and the last to the Jaguars.
The week 14 game for the Raiders is the Los Angeles Rams. It hasn’t been easy for the Rams this season, as they have not been great offensively and have lost Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp. The Raiders haven’t been good, but could play better against the Rams without several key players. They are rostered in 7.1 percent of ESPN leagues.
