One of the biggest strategies in fantasy football is streaming defenses. Each week owners will look at matchups and make waiver wire acquisitions to find their starting defense. Here are fantasy football defenses to stream week 10. (Note: All defense mentioned are rostered in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues)
*All stats and rankings from before Monday Night Football
1. Tennessee Titans
The Titans have had a pretty solid fantasy defense this year, ranking eighth at 6.2 points per game. They have specifically been great lately, with three straight double-digit performances. Their season-high came against the Rams in week 9 when they scored 16 points. They do have one negative-scoring performance this season, which came in week 1 against the Cardinals.
In week 10, the Titans will play the New Orleans Saints. The Saints have been playing Trevor Siemian at quarterback with Jameis Winston out for the season. Tennessee should be able to stack the box and make Siemian beat them, which will lead to a good fantasy day. The Titans are rostered in just eight percent of ESPN leagues.
2. Green Bay Packers
The Packers may not get the most recognition, but they have the seventh-ranked fantasy defense at 6.7 points scored per game. Since their week 1 -3 point performance, they have rebounded well. They have no other negative-scoring performances and have a season-high of 10 points scored against the Washington Football Team.
Russell Wilson is returning from injury to play against the Packers in week 10. While he has been cleared from his hand injury, he may be rusty. The Seahawks are only scoring 22.6 points per game this season and with Wilson just returning from injury, the Packers can take advantage. Green Bay is rostered in just 28.4 percent of ESPN leagues.
3. Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia has had an average fantasy defense this season, ranking 15th in the league. They score 4.7 points per game and have a season-high of 20 points, which came against Detroit. The Eagles do have three negative-scoring performances, with the most recent being against the Chargers in week 9.
In week 10, the Eagles have the Broncos on the schedule. While the Broncos put up a good game against the Cowboys, Dallas allowed them to win the field position battle. The Eagles’ can manage that a little bit better and aid their defense. Denver scores just 20.8 points per game, so Philadelphia’s defense could have a solid day. The Eagles are rostered in just 8.9 percent of ESPN leagues.
4. Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks have not played great defensively this season. They rank 27th for fantasy defenses at 2.5 points per game. Their best performance of the season was right before their week 9 bye against the Jaguars when they scored 12 points. They do have three negative-scoring performances, which all happened in week 5 or earlier.
Seattle’s defense being on this list highlights the fact that there aren’t many eligible defenses to stream, so it may be best for managers to keep the one they have. Aaron Rodgers was out with COVID against the Chiefs, but is expected to return for this game. If he can’t return, the offense didn’t do much with Jordan Love at quarterback, even against the bad Chiefs’ defense. Monitor what is going on with Rodgers before playing the Seahawks. They are available in 6.5 percent of ESPN leagues.
5. Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas City has had their fair share of defensive struggles this season. They rank 26th in fantasy scoring with 2.4 points per game. The best game they have played this game came against the Packers, with Love at quarterback. They scored negative points in three straight weeks earlier in the year.
The Chiefs play the Raiders in week 10. Las Vegas is coming off a loss to the Giants. They scored just 16 points. With the Raiders having so much going on this season it may be adding up. Playing the Chiefs is a big risk, so defenses already on rosters are the better play in most cases. The Chiefs are rostered in 12.8 percent of ESPN leagues.
