Surging after an upset victory over Optic Gaming, Clutch look to get back to an even record during week 7. However, CG face tough opponents in Team Liquid and Echo Fox, who just came off a huge upset victory over C9. Preview the matches below!
Day 1: Team Liquid (9-3)
Team Liquid are beginning to look their best after a somewhat rocky start at the beginning of the season. It goes without saying that Team Liquid are the best League of Legends team in NA, bar none. They look to get their 4th LCS title in a row and they certainly have the tools to do it.
Super star bot lane duo, Yilang “Doublelift” Peng and Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in, are absolutely dominating on the rift, showing great performances against CLG and FLY last week. Statistically, Team Liquid holds the number one spot for KDA, Gold difference @ 15 minutes, dragon control and jungle control. Furthermore. Team Liquid seems like the only team that can really hold up against the international giants such as G2, SKT and Invictus Gaming. This match will be extremely difficult for Clutch to control the pace and find their opportunity for victory.

Cody Sun
Against such a bot lane dominant team like Team Liquid, Cody Sun will need to step up his game and absorb as much pressure as possible. If Cody can receive constant ganks from Nam “Lira” Tae-yoo and some great roams from Tanner “Damonte” Damonte, CG will gain the opportunity for the upset victory; as long as Cody Sun plays his best and steps up as the carry for his team. Furthermore, if Clutch can manage to make great macro plays like their baron sneak again, CG could come out on top against the best team in the LCS.
Day 2: Echo Fox (3-9)
During their first meet up this split, Echo Fox seemed to always have Clutch on the ropes; however, great individual outplays and bad mistakes from Echo Fox allowed Clutch to walk away victorious. Echo Fox has the individual talent to catch teams off-guard and come out with upset victories such as their win over C9. However, their other nine losses, prove that they are inconsistent and don’t always show their potential. CG needs to maintain aggression and pro-activity in the early game to come out on top against FOX.
Player to Watch
Heo “Huni” Seung-hoon
Huni showed us some of his best play during their last match against Echo Fox. It’s clear that Echo Foxs’ strength lies in their top laner, Colin “Solo” Earnest. If Huni can play one of his signature champions such as Rumble or Irelia, CG could come out on top. Unfortunately, FOX had their substitute top laner, Samson “Lourlo” Jackson during their first match, therefore, we have not seen Huni against Echo Fox at full strength this split. If CG wants to come out on top, Lira will need to give tons of focus to the top lane and give Huni the opportunity to find some early kills.
