The Minnesota Rokkr have been doing a good job of keeping themselves busy. Initially, time off due to Corona Virus allowed them to get creative and host their own events. Since CDL play has returned, they have participated in one tournament, the Dallas home series. They managed to reach the finals again but fell to the Florida Mutineers.
Now, with some more time off until their next home series appearance, they have decided to put together another homemade tourney. It’s another Gunfight battle, only this time, it’s three-on-three instead of two-on-two. That’s right, and everyone knows what happens when more players are involved.
It means, more chaos, and who doesn’t like more intensity in Call of Duty? When more players are in the game, then fans can expect much quicker kills. It’s all close combat, with numerous bodies, so things will get crazy. As with other homegrown events, this one is for the Rokkr fans, with some of the best players duking it out.
More about the event
And this is not some tiny event either. There will be 32 teams participating for Rokkr Gunfight supremacy. And the rules are simple to understand. Players must kill their opponents within a certain time limit. If either team fails to do that, then they have to grab a flag that will pop up. This has to be done in a certain amount of time too.
It will be interesting to see how things go. It was wise of them to hose it on a weekend where there’s no CDL action. The matches start on Friday, May 1 at 4 pm CST. And as with all of the CDL tournaments, this event will also be live-streamed on YouTube for all to enjoy.
So, it could be a good way for fans to get their Call of Duty esports fix with no CDL this weekend. It’s been cool that the Rokkr and other teams have been trying to create their own things. With the league having home series’ every two or three weeks, the void needs to be filled. So far, teams have delivered, and getting the community involved is a plus.
