The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Multiplayer Reveal has dropped. Fans were definitely eager to see the gameplay and while they left with some excitement, there were also some concerns.
MINI-MAP

As of now, there is currently no default mini-map in the multiplayer game mode. Although the footage released is only alpha gameplay, it was disappointing for fans to see that the only way to receive a mini-map would be to earn a UAV or Personal Radar killstreak.
This differs vastly from past Call of Duty games, all of which players have been granted a mini-map by default. Now, players must use the Personal Radar killstreak to first obtain a mini-map, and then the UAV killstreak for that same mini-map to ping enemies. Players and fans feel that this new feature is extremely unnecessary as they would have to waste 2 of their 3 killstreaks to earn what would be a normal UAV in past games. Yet, there are still several months until the full game is released and things could certainly change.
CUSTOMIZATION

Many pro players and content creators were flown out for the reveal. They have reported back that when first starting the game, they were appalled by the amount of recoil on the weapons.
Yet, as they progressed they were able to customize their weapon loadout using the new Gunsmith feature. While there are between 30-60 different attachments per weapon, players had to tinker with certain loadouts that fit their play style. The new multiplayer reveal showed off just how vast the Gunsmith feature truly is.
KILLSTREAKS

Fans rejoiced when the multiplayer trailer revealed that the “nuke” killstreak would finally be returning to the game. The ultimate killstreak has always been the hardest to earn and has not appeared in a game for some time now.
As well, players were able to get a glance at the full killstreak list for the upcoming title. They were happy to see not only the sheer amount of new killstreaks but that many were damage focused. This included the AC-130 and Chopper Gunner which were brought back from previous Modern Warfare games.
VERDICT
Overall, fans were certainly disappointed to learn that the game did not feature a default mini-map. Yet, they were impressed by the killstreaks and customization features. Fortunately, this is only the multiplayer reveal. Fans still have the beta and full release to look forward to. Hopefully, developers listen to fans about what did and did not work so that the game can continue to improve.
