The NFL season is already full of surprises, which makes it hard to pick winners. Cecil Walker and Joe DiTullio, of The Third and the Don Football Show, will do their best to try to predict the winners for every NFL game this season. Here are the NFL week 13 picks.
Thursday night: New Orleans Saints at Dallas Cowboys
Joe- The Cowboys are playing well, but beating the Saints is a tall order. Drew Brees is playing phenomenally and their defense is also stepping up as of late.- Saints
Cecil- The only hope the Cowboys have of winning this one is feeding the ball the Ezekial Elliott and bleeding the clock. The Saints have just too high powered of an offense.-Saints
Sunday: Baltimore Ravens at Atlanta Falcons
Joe- No one knows who the Ravens will start at quarterback. The Falcons’ offense is going to have a tough one against a solid Ravens’ defense, but should be able to feed Julio Jones the ball and win at home.- Falcons
Cecil- This one is a tossup. If Lamar Jackson starts, I think the defense will do enough for him to have the opportunity to win this game, something I would have no faith in Joe Flacco doing,-Ravens
Denver Broncos at Cincinnati Bengals
Joe- What an embarrassment for the Bengals. With Jeff Driskel now starting, the Broncos should be able to come into Cincinnati and walk away with a victory.- Broncos
Cecil- No Andy Dalton? No problem. The Bengals were playing terribly anyway and the Broncos middling offense should be able to work wonders against them.-Broncos
Los Angeles Rams at Detroit Lions
Joe- The Lions do beat some good teams, but the Rams are too good. Matt Stafford may not have Kerryon Johnson and will not have Marvin Jones. Los Angeles will take full advantage.- Rams
Cecil- The Lions are down too many players on offense and only had one man on defense anyway. They won’t be able to keep up with the Rams-Rams
Arizona Cardinals at Green Bay Packers
Joe- Green Bay is in a skid, but there is no way they lose to the Cardinals if Aaron Rodgers suits up.- Packers
Cecil- The Packers have been playing bad as of late, but they are on a different tier than the Cardinals, especially when playing in Lambeau Field.-Packers
Buffalo Bills at Miami Dolphins
Joe- Josh Allen is back and helped lead the Bills to a win over the Jaguars. The Dolphins are not playing well now after their hot start. The Bills will squeak out a win over the Dolphins.- Bills
Cecil- Going with the home team in this one. Neither team is very good and I think the weather will work to the Dolphins favor.- Cecil
Chicago Bears at New York Giants
Joe- Who would have thought that the Bears would be so good this season? The defense is great and the offense is maturing in front of our eyes.- Bears
Cecil- The Bears are one of the more complete teams this season and the Giants couldn’t even take care of the Eagles’ pedestrian secondary. That adds up to a lopsided football game.- Bears
Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Joe- The Buccaneers need to rebuild again. Carolina hasn’t been playing their best football and will be glad to play a team that they should beat.- Panthers
Cecil- The Tampa Bay offense will put up some points, but the Panthers should be able to end their skid. At least they look like they have a good trio in the future with Cam Newton, D.J. Moore and Christian McCaffrey.- Panthers
Indianapolis Colts at Jacksonville Jaguars
Joe- Andrew Luck is back. With a good offensive line, Luck has been picking apart defenses. If they want to make the playoffs they might need to win this game.- Colts
Cecil- The Colts are on a roll and Andrew Luck is back to his old self. The Jaguars continue to fall apart, meaning Indianapolis won’t have any problems.- Colts
Cleveland Browns at Houston Texans
Joe- Cleveland got a win and are not a terrible team. Unfortunately, they are running into a buzzsaw Texans’ team that has eight straight wins. The Texans will win.- Texans
Cecil- The Browns are coming off a big game in Cincinnati, but Houston will prove to be much more of a challenge for them. Houston hasn’t lost since September and will be too much for the Browns.- Texans
New York Jets at Tennessee Titans
Joe- How does someone have as good of a game as Marcus Mariota did on Monday night and still lose? The Titans are still a solid team, while the Jets have some growing to do.- Titans
Cecil- While Tennessee doesn’t have much of an offense, their defense should be able to create enough turnovers from Jets’ quarterback Sam Darnold to win the game.- Titans
Kansas City Chiefs at Oakland Raiders
Joe- With Kansas City coming off of a bye, there is no way they lose to the Raiders.- Chiefs
Cecil- I’m not going to waste your time: Chiefs big.- Chiefs
Minnesota Vikings at New England Patriots
Joe- Minnesota is a solid team, but Tom Brady can pick apart the defense if given the time. If he gets the ball out of his hands quickly, the Patriots will win.- Patriots
Cece- It’s hard not to pick the Patriots at home, but right now the Vikings have enough offensive weapons win a close game.- Vikings
San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks
Joe- The 49ers have looked better than expected with all of their injuries, but Seattle will run the ball and control the clock, resulting in a Seahawks win.- Seahawks
Cecil- Seattle is on a roll right now and the 49ers have sustained too many injuries to compete with decent teams.- Seahawks
Los Angeles Chargers at Pittsburgh Steelers
Joe- Both of these teams are playoff contenders and will want to get an edge. The Chargers’ defense is playing lights out. They’ll be without Melvin Gordon, but Austin Ekeler will fill in well.- Chargers
Cecil- The Steelers have had a rough couple games on the road, however Big Ben at Heinz Field is a different story. The Chargers are banged up on defense as well, so the Steelers will win a close game.- Steelers
Monday Night Football: Washington Redskins at Philadelphia Eagles
Joe-Â Without Alex Smith, Colt McCoy will play decently. The Eagles will get the win with the game on Carson Wentz’s shoulders.- Eagles
Cecil- The Eagles are lucky enough to get a team they match up well with given the injuries involved in this game. Colt McCoy won’t be able to get the job done and Philly will get back on track.- Eagles
