College football is now in full swing. There are always things to watch every week of the season. Here are 5 things to watch in college football week 11.
1. Michigan’s First Big Game
Michigan is undefeated this season, but have not been tested. This week, they have their first big game of the season as they travel to Penn State. The Wolverines have had plenty of distractions amid the sign-stealing investigation, but they have played great this season, specifically defensively. They allow just 6.7 points per game. On offense, they score 40.7 points per game.
Penn State has just one loss this season, which came at the hands of Ohio State. They have been criticized for not being able to defeat Michigan or Ohio State, but they have another chance this week. Penn State also has a talented defense, allowing just 11.9 points per game. Their offense has struggled in bigger games, but they average 40.2 points per game. If they can get anything going offensively, they will have a chance to win.
2. Ole Miss at Georgia
Ole Miss has tallied just one loss on the season and still have plenty to play for this year. They will be taking on Georgia for a chance to stay alive in the CFP race this week. Their offense has put up 38.8 points per game behind a good rushing attack. Quinshon Judkins has been a star running back for the Rebels. The defense gives up 22.9 points per game.
It will take a great effort for Ole Miss to defeat Georgia. The Bulldogs have improved their offense throughout the season and are averaging 40.0 points per game. Their defense allows just 15.4 points per game. If Carson Beck can continue to play well, Georgia should be able to stay undefeated.
3. Utah at Washington
Utah has done a great job without starting quarterback Cam Rising this season, as they have lost just two games this season. They are a physical team that can grind out wins. The Utes score 25 points and allow 15.9 points per game. Bryson Barnes has done a solid job at quarterback, but will likely need score more than their average to get a win.
Washington is still undefeated and can make the College Football Playoff if they stay focused. Their offense scores 41.7 points per game as one of the best in the country. The defense has played well too, as they allow 23 points per game. Michael Penix has played terrifically and should be able to put up points on a tough Utah defense.
4. Tennessee at Missouri
Tennessee has two losses on the season, but have been playing good football. They travel to Missouri to take on the Tigers in week 11. The Volunteers score 34.8 points per game and are much more run-based than in past seasons. Defensively, they allow 18.4 points per game and have played solidly.
Missouri has had a surprisingly good season, as they also have just two losses. The Tigers score 32.4 points per game and are led by star receiver Luther Burden. On defense, the Tigers allow 24 points per game. They could use a big win after losing to Georgia last week.
5. USC at Oregon
USC has been struggling over the last several weeks of the season. Things will get tougher as they take on Oregon this week. Their defense has been specifically disappointing, as they concede 34.5 points per game. Defensive coordinator Alex Grinch has been let go so maybe changes will come. The offense is still great with Caleb Williams at quarterback, as they score 45.3 points per game. They’ll likely need to make the game a shootout to beat Oregon.
The Ducks have just one loss on the season, which came to Washington. They need to focus to make the Pac-12 Championship Game. Oregon scores 47.4 points per game, which makes them the best offense in the country. Defensively, they give up 16 points. Getting through this game really sets up the Ducks for a push to the CFP.
