The 2024 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Adisa Isaac 2024 NFL Draft Profile.
Adisa Isaac Background
Position: Edge Rusher
School: Penn State
Size:Â 6-foot-4, 247 pounds
Class: Senior
2023 stats: 37 total tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery
Isaac spent five seasons at Penn State, but was really productive over the last two years. Now he is in the 2024 NFL Draft.
As a four-star recruit in the class of 2019, Isaac signed with Penn State out of New York. In his first two seasons, Isaac was a rotational rusher without much production. He missed the 2021 season due to injury. In 2022, Isaac tallied 28 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and four sacks. His play helped the Nittany Lions win 11 games. For the 2023 season, he racked up 37 total tackles, 16 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks. He led Penn State to 10 wins in his last season of college football.
Following the 2023 season, Isaac declared for the 2024 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a second to fourth-round pick.
Adisa Isaac Strengths
Isaac has a solid frame, standing at 6-foot-4 and 247 pounds. He has some room to add to his frame, but has a good starting point for the NFL. With his height and weight, Isaac has long arms measuring almost 34 inches. With ok strength and solid arm length, it helps him shed.
He has a good first step, which he uses to get an advantage on plays. Isaac times the snap well and can put offensive linemen into a reactionary mode. He is able to take that quick first step to help him get around the edge and get to the quarterback.
He has a relentless motor, which helps him have a lot of production. Isaac plays hard on most plays and works hard to get to the quarterback. He gets some of his production from the secondary rush. Against the run, he pursues ball carriers downfield and works to get through blocks to get to them.
Adisa Isaac Weaknesses
Isaac can improve his run defense in some areas. He can take some time to shed, before he can pursue. In addition to that he also needs to set the edge better and keep runs going to the interior. With more focus, he can improve in this area.
He has some pass rush moves, but needs to keep adding to his arsenal. Isaac can throw offensive linemen off if he had more moves in his bag, but also if he had more counters to go with those moves. He was productive in college, but to match that at the NFL level, he will need more.
There are some technique issues that can be cleaned up with coaching. His hands can get too wide, which makes it harder for him to shed. He also lets his pad level get too high. Isaac needs to keep his power by staying low and gaining leverage.
Projected Draft Range: Second Round Pick-Fourth Round Pick
Draft Grade: Fourth Round Pick
