Safety Kareem Jackson has officially been suspended for four games. This suspension comes after Jackson broke unnecessary roughness rules when hitting Packers’ tight end Luke Musgrave in the head and neck area during Sunday’s game.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Monday.
Apparently, Jackson will now appeal the four-game suspension, most probably on the grounds that the hit around the head and neck area was unintentional. PFF’s Ari Meirov stated on Twitter that Jackson has had “a few” of those kinds of hits this year.
He’s played in all seven games so far this season, but was ejected for the hit on Sunday. He’s had two interceptions and 42 combined tackles this year. In all 17 games last season, Jackson did not record an interception.
