NFL Week 18 is here. Picking NFL games straight up is hard enough, but picking against the spread is even tougher. Here are the NFL week 18 picks against the spread. (Spreads are from Tallysight as of Tuesday morning)
Last week: 10-5, 116-131-8
Saturday Games
Kansas City Chiefs (-9) at Las Vegas Raiders
The Chiefs still have the top seed to win, so they will be focused. Jarrett Stidham played well against the 49ers, but it may be hard to keep up with the Chiefs’ offense.
Pick: Chiefs
Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars (-6)
This game will decide the AFC South champion. The Titans have been spiraling and will have Josh Dobbs at quarterback. To make things worse, their offensive coordinator Todd Downing, can’t be trusted to ride Derrick Henry to victory. The Titans can keep it close, but expect the Jaguars to win.
Pick: Titans
Sunday Afternoon
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Atlanta Falcons (-4)
The Buccaneers don’t have much to play for in this game, but they also won’t bench their starters in preparation for the playoffs. Tampa should be able to keep it close if not win outright.
Pick: Buccaneers
Buffalo Bills (-7) at New England Patriots
Buffalo still doesn’t know how much is at stake in this game. Even so, they will likely want to play their starters and get back in a flow after Monday Night’s game was postponed.
Pick: Bills
Minnesota Vikings (-7) at Chicago Bears
The Vikings play almost all their games close and the Bears will run the ball well, even if the Vikings win.
Pick: Bears
Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals (-7)
Like the Bills, the Bengals still don’t know how this could impact their playoff seeding. They will likely play their starters and try to win the division, regardless of whether their game against the Bills gets rescheduled.
Pick: Bengals
Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts (-3)
Although they have played hard as of late, the Texans did get blown out by the Jaguars last week. They should be able to rebound this week and upset the Colts if they played anything like the couple weeks before week 17.
Pick: Texans
New York Jets (-1) at Miami Dolphins
The Jets have nothing to play for in this game, while the Dolphins need to win and have Buffalo defeat New England to make the playoffs. They have quarterback injury issues, but they can win whether Teddy Bridgewater or Skylar Thompson starts.
Pick: Dolphins
Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints (-3.5)
Carolina has played well down the stretch, but they now have nothing to play for in week 18. The Saints have been playing hard regardless of playoff outcome the last few weeks.
Pick: Saints
Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers (-2.5)
Kenny Pickett has been clutch for the Steelers, while the defense has been tough. They should be able to win and cover against a Browns’ team that struggled after Deshaun Watson came back to the lineup.
Pick: Steelers
Sunday Evening
Los Angeles Chargers at Denver Broncos (-1.5)
If the Ravens lose to the Bengals, the Chargers can rest their starters. They will have their starters ready, but if they already have the no. 5 seed locked up, look for the Broncos to be able to pull off the upset.
Pick: Broncos
New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles (-14)
While they don’t plan to rest their starters, the Giants already have their playoff seed (no. 6) in hand. Philadelphia needs to win to secure the top seed.
Pick: Eagles
Los Angeles Rams at Seattle Seahawks (-6)
Seattle needs to win and have Detroit defeat Green Bay to make the playoffs. They should be able to handle the Rams, who have nothing to play for and several players injured.
Pick: Seahawks
Arizona Cardinals at San Francisco 49ers (-14)
The 49ers still have a shot at the top seed, while the Cardinals will have David Blough at quarterback and no DeAndre Hopkins in this game.
Pick: 49ers
Dallas Cowboys (-7) at Washington Commanders
Washington has nothing to play for, but the Cowboys can still win the division and win the one seed. To get the top seed, they need the Eagles and 49ers to lose in week 18. They’ll likely play hard just in case some craziness happens.
Pick: Cowboys
Sunday Night Football
Detriot Lions at Green Bay Packers (-4)
The Packers need to win to get in the playoffs. Detroit needs a win and Seattle loss. Regardless, the Lions will play hard in order to finish the season strong.
Pick: Lions
